"guys who are abusing the system . . ."
Sounds like he was going back once a year (although details are sketchy)

Is this a class action suit? Can I sign on ?
Then again,, just how many socks can you go through in a lifetime?

And you know what the settlement was: $50K plus socks for life a lá Seinfeld and Kramer's coffee beef

I do like those beefy wool socks though.
Costco has them generally once a year.

I had not put any of the Scandinavian bushman's videos this year because I did not see any new content. It is apparent now why there was no new content. Makes one stop and wonder what happens to ones digital self on the interwebbs as time passes your time.

Further and dramatic proof that it's not about the destination (which is the same for all of us regardless),, but it's only the journey that counts.

The balance is getting harder and harder for many to achieve.

True that - With Covid and the like I have fallen back into the grind Working closer to 50 hours a week rather than 40 - Working through lunch rather taking a bit of a break - Very easy to do - But the money is good and the certainty of lean time (In which idle time will be enforsed) is almost certain.

March is still a bit away

You know,, if you like your work,, why not ??

I enjoy a few days in the outback,, but beyond that ??

I spent quite a bit of time boondocking in Baja California when it was pristine and isolated.
In a couple of Toyota LandCruisers
Beautiful, especially the Sea of Cortez. It was safe back then too. You could park anywhere.
But when I did emerge,, my first goal was finding a hotel with hot water. And cold beer.

There is a lot to be said for the four pillars of Western Civilization:
Flush toilets,, Hot water, Cold beer,, and I forget the fourth

Getting back and forth (to Nicaragua) is somewhat problematic at the moment. The Palmerola connection is OK,, but having Shelley come up to get me is a burden. Guasaule is very welcoming,, but both Espino and Las Manos are getting very "strange". Shelley is getting nervous about not getting back in.

I think that I will try hiring someone to just drive me to the Nica border next time.
You can't beat the pricing of the flights. On the last trip back I sat next to some guy from Guatemala.

We wind up over nighting, and while it's neat to explore Comayagua,, etc,, just paying someone the equivalent of the hotel and food to drive me to the border would be less.

Like jumping into a taxi at MGA for a straight shot to Estelí

It is the never ending question, do I like it or did I just fall into routine - 7:05 alarm, Coffee and english muffin - Feed cat - Walk dog - Watch the meat puppets summarize the morning news (but mostly watch for the weather) - Drive the 14km to work - Cycle through 30 to 50 emails - Take care of the fires - Inspect some billable product - Help with some production and engineering issues - drive home - Repeat.

How do you know you "Like" something or are duty bound to complete it and force yourself to call it "Like" - Enough en for a Monday morning - off to the coffee maker for cup #3

It is nice to be average - We have not had the 20% kick to the teeth this fellow aludes to, we tepidly opened the envelope last month and were releived it was only a 9% kick to the teeth, but that was after being up a few times more than that over covid.

It is getting harder and harder to peg down a Timeline for Harold. One week he posts a Vid from Tico land, another from MN in summer, then a post interviewing the carver guy in Esteli and today a video of snow in MN

From his posting you would never know where he is ..
