Passport arrived Friday - So visit to Dayton is on - Will leave 19th @ 3 or 3:30 - Arrive at 9ish, stay until 2 or so. Then do a little shopping around Toledo and Detroit and get back to the house around Midnight.

BIL Daniel arrived on Saturday. He was to arrive Friday but that flight was delayed and he got on the Saturday flight. His daughter has wedding party, I think it is an engagement party, and he has some stuff to address for his LTD - Dr's appointments, meeting with the company etc etc. Until he goes back no more work will happen on the house. There was talk of him doing some under the table work - but he just say screw it and fl back - He bought a one way here and will take a one way back of course.

There was a local garage sale int he town of Manhiem this weekend - Always the first Saturday in May - Last time we went was before Chilo mother dies, which is almost 20 yrs ago now - Nice to get back to some of the things we have been missing out on the last couple decades.

Right now sandia and aguacate are in season and they are among the healthiest foods available

    True.
Not intuitive what is really healthy and what is . . . less healthy.

    Especially among fruits and vegetables.

I encourage everyone on the board to eat all the albacore tuna , Dungeness crab and wild salmon they can. It’s the healthiest food out there. Comes
str from my farm. We’re getting paid the same as we were in 1999 so it should be a good value as well.

So the drive to Dayton was pretty uneventful - Round trip was 1310km

We left at 4AM - Arrived at 10:45 - stayed to 1 and then headed back. There was not a lot purchased - I found a police scanner for a good price and some connectors and odds and sods. Ran into some friends from the Ontario scanner mailing list who were staying the week. Lots I wanted to buy over that but could not really justify it - I have too any dormant radios and electronics I need to parse down first. I am kinda sorry I did not pick up the Yaesu FT301 for $100 - Oh well - There is next year.

We sthen stopped in at Harbour freight and grabbed again some bits and bobs - Grabbers for the roadside clean up our Lions club dose - They were $2 - Some tatchet extensions with a swivel for $10 and some flash lights at $1 a piece.

Then we stopped into the Bass Pro in Perrysburg OH where I was handed an AR-15 6 yrs ago (I had no idea on what to do at that time) this time we just oggled the guns and looked for a 2 person sleeping bag - There were no deals so headed home.

All in all it was 12 hrs driving and I really liked it - But I only got 5 hrs of sleep before we left and that did hang on me - For the drive down to Nicaragua I do realise I need a solid 6 to 8 hours sleep to do a 14 to 18 hour drive each day.

It was a holiday here Monday (Dead Queen's Birthday - The old dead queen, not the new dead queen) and is the typical "Low/No chance of frost - Lets plant our gardins like mad" . Ergo Dad was short drivers to take loads to customer - We took a load out Sunday and another early Monday - Nice Ryder 28 foot long automatic. It was fun to be doing deliveries again.

Chilo tagged along for both the US trip and out for the deliveries - The Moday delivery was out of the house at 5 - At the greenhouse at 6 - At the store at 7 - back at the gennhouse at 9 and a few short runs to pick up empty carts and back at the house at noon.

When we got back to the greenhouse there was good 'ol dad driving the tow motor moving patio stones for the Jamacians who were setting the tiles - @81 yrs old . He is still killing it at 81 - I hope I can do the same.

Keep moving,, manage blood pressure (important not just for heart but kidneys too),
    avoid high fructose corn syrup (soft drinks),, your liver has to metabolize this;
Go as keto as you comfortably can without becoming a fanatic,

Your dad will probably live to 100.

I don't know about Canada,, probably not as gullible as in the US,,
but in the US you can get a lot of great diagnostic testing just by saying,,

"When I exercise I get short of breath and my chest hurts "

That bought me an EKG stress test,, an Echo Cardiogram, and an Angiogram.
    Total Copay nut of $45.

Absolutely nothing wrong,, with an ejection fraction of 66%,
but the peace of mind is precious,, as they say.

A US doctor once explained that to me--he said "Say something hurts" so the HMO will pay for the test. Another thing, read the small print. For good reasons and bad, US doctors will write in stuff on your report that never happened. CYA all the way.

"Doctor councelled patient on possible side effects" Yeah right, if you want to know about possible side effects you have to go to a real doctor on YouTube.

Covid was an intelligence test and we flunked.

Someone SHOULD start a You Tube School of Medicine and offer an elaborate diploma that you can hang on your wall.

    One problem:
I don't don't know where you would do your internship and residency (maybe Nicaragua ) ??

Just about every procedure is viewable on You Tube,, and it gives you a great idea of what to expect.

Pradip has moved away from Sugar, Insulin and Fasting, and is now into your "gut biome"
