Default War! .... What is it good for? ...Absolutely nothing!

Wouldn't it be great to see a war that did not include the USA?

You know I was watching a show with my girl called, "Inside 911" produced by National Geographic. It describes how Osama Bin Laden got his start and how he developed a hatred for the USA. Basically he was insulted because the Saudi Monarchy selected the USA to defend the country instead of his freedom fighters that fought off the Soviets in Afghanistan during desert storm. He was a spoiled rich kid war hero that helped fight off the big giant Soviets (with Stinger Missiles supplied by the US). For selecting the US he was personally humiliated and declared war on the USA. It is a great show.

Anyway... Because the US supplied the Freedom Fighters the stinger missiles and helped Afghanistan fend off the Soviets he was allowed to take over the country himself. Following that you had the attacks of 911.

Here is an opinion that I formed from the show. If the USA had Not assisted in that war, the Soviets would have won, Osama Bin Laden would be either dead or rendered useless and he would never have had a beef with the USA and the attacks of 911 may not have happened. So George Bush Senior, Supplying Stingers to the Afghanistan rebels had a direct link to the attacks of 911. All the countries of the former USSR are all individual countries again and Afghanistan would just have been another one of them.

Throughout the histories of the world, the movers and the shakers have been involved in the wars, either overtly or covertly.

In our own history of the USA, the movers and shakers of the world were Britain, Spain and France, to which France contributed to the overthrow of the British from the lands known today as the USA, both in the War of Independence and the War of 1812.

Once the USA was established as a country of strength it became one of the movers and shakers among its European counterparts and involved itself by strength in the affairs of others for various reasons.

This stewing conflict between Colombia and Venezuela involves not only the USA as a supporter of Colombia, but Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina and Cuba. Near the position of being covert in this dispute are the countries of Russia and China, who have always taken a position of the opposite of the USA.

War produces widows, new exotic weapons and other discoveries; lessens the population of the world, and occasionally delivers some group to freedom from the oppressions of others. Most generally it is a chess game moving the oppression of a group from one oppressor to the control of another oppressor.

Look at the benefits of war.

No more the old peg legs of olden days but new prosthesis that allow a one legged man to walk almost normal. Without the maimed bodies in mass number, there would be no use in making these advanced and wonderful prosthesis.

One can drive to unknown locations today with just an address to clock into your GPS that will eventually get you to where you intended to go with just a few shouts from the machine yelling "off route!"

The books that we love to read most always are about conflict in one way or the other; otherwise, we would not have Casa Blanca or many other books of interest that we all have read and loved, and there would not have been a Hemingway. What a dull world without War.

    Don't you agree?

"War" is changing. We could have won both wars that we are in now, but we are not fighting a war really. If it was a war, a few nukes would have tidied things up quickly. But we are merely police trying to force savages to get along.

Most importantly ... we can not afford to police the world. Let them live the way they want or deserve and nuke 'em if they attack us.

To much of my money and my gran kids money is being spent foolishly.

I agree, however, war looms upon us and if we do not face it head on, there very well may not be a place for your children or grandchildren to live.

Iran threatens us, North Korea does the same, as well as tongue and cheek the rumblings of such as Chavez. Without a strong response to these types, a vision of a future fades by the day with the present lack of leadership.

Therefore, Nicaragua and Little Corn Island look good in the eye of a survivor, for who wishes to fight with Daniel over a few bananas?

Forced smoking of marijuana comes to mind, so as all would be laid back, cool and happy. Wonder who would do the dishes?
