    Default Laser measuring Device

November will be 3 years here full time, I sent down 13 rubbermaid boxes of stuff, 10 are still full. I found this the other day, I thought I had given it away. Thankfully I had removed the batteries or it would probably be worthless.

I bought this in 1998, at the time it was the best money could buy, I waited months for it to clear customs and paid a hefty price for it but it is worth it's weight (it's heavy) in Gold.

For anyone involved in construction, especially remodels, this may interest you. I have measured up to 300' (indoors) with it, then verified with a tape, deadly accurate. I have the manual and a wealth of info can be found on the web about it.

Swiss made, absolutely the best. Leica Disto Basic.

I am exceptional at buying stuff, but suck at selling. Looked on ebay, avg of $150. Will sell for $125 or trade for other useless stuff of the same value. No rush to sell so willing to hold if you really want it (what's another year).

I have absolutely no use for it, my house is 20x20 and any add ons will be ye big.

    Information from Leica:

Leica DISTO laser distance meter, other challenges in this field are the need for large-scale production and the creation of a sales network with strong global coverage

No worry about that. I just thought someone here could use it. Everytime I see it I still smile, been years since I used it, still brings back memories. When you throw that laser beam people scatter like mice. I really thought I had given it to a friend in the States, was surprised to find it (in a Crown Royal bag none the less).

When I bought this thing all my peers laughed, they all told me Sears had the same thing for $50, (sonic, not laser), they laughed and laughed until it showed up. When I pulled this thing out of the box and measured a hotel hallway nearly 200 feet long within a centimeter the laughter stopped.

I could scope a large commercial loss in a fraction of the time they could, time is money. Oh how I laughed when they asked to borrow my silly little toy.

A cool little toy, that is actually a tool.

Like I said, I smile everytime I see it.

I am a terrible saleman, now I want to keep it, better I stick to buying, no good at selling.

Doing my yearly inspection of the boxes, LCT I think this one is going back with your next trip down. Have not looked at ebay to see what they are bringing but should still draw something.

I am in the process of building a small bodega (storage area) and anything that has not been used in my time here is out the door, about to have me one of them yard sales.

Good thing you did not show the level to masonry buddy.. He could claim that the battery powered level did not work on the brick wall because the power went out..

I'll buy it if you can hold on to it until I can get there.

How can I pay you ? If you've got PayPal . . . .otherwise, Western Union works next best.

I'll hold on to it for you, no rush, it has been here almost 6 years already. Just let me know when you get down and we will figure something out. Looking at Ebay it looks like the value has fallen some.
