Looking for a house in Nicaragua that is fully energy self-sufficient?
Check out the link below if you, or anyone you know, are looking for a house in Nicaragua that is fully energy self-sufficient.
"Home for sale by owner on 1.5 hectares (2.2 mz) of land located just two km from the cool hills of Carretera Sur km 10 in Managua. The single-level home (220m2) has an open-plan living room with dining area and spacious kitchen with excellent lighting. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 childrens room, and an office with picture window off the living room. The covered terrace overlooks the property, which has been reforested with more than 1,000 trees of native timber trees and various grafted fruit trees. There is a separate garage with three rooms (2 storage rooms and 1 main room with full bathroom). This home is fully energy self-sufficient using AC current from 12 solar panels and 8 batteries. City water line, telephone landline and Internet services are all well established."

Re: Looking for a house in Nicaragua that is fully energy self-sufficient?
i like the idea of solar panels to give a double roof effect.
1. you get power
2. it shades the roof and thereby keeps the interior cooler. air can circulate under the solar panel and draw the heat away.
now, if only those panels can get more efficient and cheaper in the next 15 years.....
