Default Canadian Gvt looses Confidence Vote, Election May 2nd. Elections Canada web site

Well if you fellow Canucks have not heard yet the Government fell to confidence vote Friday.

Election is schedualed for May 2.

Here is the elections Canada website for Voting out of country.

    http://www.elections.ca/content.aspx...t=index&lang=e

I would assume the required paper is available at the Program Office of the Embassy of Canada in Managua..

    http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca....aspx?lang=eng

If someone would be kind enough to Google map the location of the office it would be nice.

    Thanx

Thanks Bill. I was just joking with the wife who is a Canadian citizen now that she will have to vote in the up coming election. She immediately busted into screams of joy asking me if that meant that we were going to go back to Canada for a visit in order for her and I to vote. Sadly I told her no, I think there must be a way to do it from here either on the Net or in Managua. You Should have seen the disappointed look on her face. I said don't be too sad you still get to vote in your first Canadian election. "Ya right, big deal." she said. "You go to Managua to vote." she said.

I'm almost hoping that the Grits win; maybe the Canadian dollar will go back down into the sixty cent range as it did under Chrétien (insead of US$1.02 now under Harper) and I can then at least afford to visit there again!

My daughter-in-law, a Bluenose Tory, doesn't like Harper, but I keep telling her, "Well at least somebody is doing something right up there in terms of the economy!" Now I'll have to remind her to be careful of what she wishes for!

That's raw TRUST in you, dare I say, full faith in your judgement. Look at the power you wield, that they confidently lay upon your shoulders, for you are the head of the family.

Besides what you're really asking them to do isn't so much to think for themselves, as it is to do their homework on the issues and the candidates and their parties and the folks bankrolling them, weigh all judicially, and decide what's best for Canada. A lot of work, bub.

Too bad we Americans can't vote our rich bums out when they lose our confidence. We're forced to wait til the next scheduled election.

    Now that is funny..

Funnier still was the youtube ad that popped up with in the video..

"Ottawa is broken, Jack Layton and the NDP can fix it"

Jack "the stash" Layton is our version of a socialist which you folks would call a stark raving mad communist..

Why do I picture those pop-up ads that say your computer is infected and only if you "click here" to download a PC cleaner will it get fixed.

So what's your take on why and how the NDP has made such inroads in bluenose Tory Nova Scotia?? Stanfield must be turning over in his grave! I really am curious how the election this year turns out!

The Current Conservatives are not the PC's of ol (no Dr D and Howard, not that PC) ..

Since the far (moral) swing to the right they have alienated the base. The Far right movement is western based.. They have quite a policy "gateway.."

    Like Slartibartfast says..

Slartibartfast: I must warn you, we're going to pass through, well, a sort of gateway thing.
    Arthur Dent: What?
Slartibartfast: It may disturb you. It scares the willies out of me.

Even me, a life long Red Tory, find them hard to support a times...

Interesting take! On the other hand, Newfoundland swung heavily conservative; if Stanfield is turning over in his grave, I guess Smallwood is too! Danny Williams is certainly one of the the most interesting figures in Canadian politics today!

I have a feeling this thread was meant to address Canadians living in Nicaragua and how they were supposed to absentee-vote for the new government.

However, since "resistance is futile" in the words of the Vogons making way for the new hyperspace bypass, this thread has become Chureca-fodder.

    So...

I should probably move it there.

Harper is still in charge is he? The Quebecois lost 43 of their previously held 47 seats? The conservatives won as I read it and the Liberals...oh well, they slide to the hind tit and the Quebecois slid into no longer being a party.
