Default July Farmer's Makrt in SJDS

Hey all, it's that time again, come to Big Wave Dave's on Saturday July 2nd from 10 am until noon for all kinds of homemade goodies!

Pyramid Smoked Meats will have whole hams, ham hocks, smoked chicken, cajun corn beef and Canadian bacon.
Pelon's Smokehouse Specialties will have ribs, pork shoulder, sausages, bacon, and baked beans.

Roger and I will have a few new products this week. Got a call from a fella requesting some Southern food, so we'll have beans and pork BBQ, as well as French country duck sausage, smoked duck, duck egg rolls, boursin cheese, white wine and dill sauerkraut, cinnamon rolls, jalapeño cornbread muffins, and whatever else I have time for.

Anna's back from Las Vegas and will have Grand Marnier Brownies and German Chocolate Volcano Cream Cupcakes, Artisan breads, and Bacon and sage-stuffed chicken breasts with gravy.

If I were there, I'll get me them duck sausages and eat them like a duck sausage biscuit sandwich, toped with some crispy bacon

Sounds like the market is really catching on. You make me hungrier every month. Good luck!
It's all part of the adventure!!

The SJDS market has been around for years, and lately is hurting a bit, but I'm gonna meet up with some of the vendors this afternoon to brainstorm about making some changes. Some weeks are great, as long as tourists are in town, other weeks it's little more than a fun time catching up with friends (which is always a great thing!!). Roger never complains 'cause he gets to eat whatever doesn't sell.

Just started organizing a market in Granada, but it's going through growing pains right now. It should all work out soon enough, and some vendors have expressed interest in trying one in Jinotepe or Rivas. I think the bottom line is that good quality products will sell, you just gotta get buyers and sellers together.

From-scratch hamburger buns came out perfect and we smoked some spicy Louisiana sausage late last night, flavored with Merlot, fresh garlic and thyme, and lots of heat. Oh, that one's a keeper!

I think that having it in different locations will be ideal. You also need a little more publicity. My Mom lives in Rivas and was not aware about the one in SJDS, she is interested in going (She loves bread and can never find good bread unless she comes to Managua) and I always tell her when I get info from you. She has a few friends whom I know will definetely go with her and buy. I also spoke to a customer recently (they are opening up a place on Km 136 towards Peñas Blanca) and he stated that he would be interested in checking it out. By the way I gave him your contact info, he might be e-mailing you.
I have spoken to gringos in the Tola area and the trip could be a bit long to SJDS for them. Having it in Rivas would be more accessible to those in Tola and Sjds, even for you. If you´re interested I could look for a place in Rivas where you could have it. Let me know.
