I never got to see a shuttle launch but we did have an office there, so I got to do all the tours. There is a railroad track that the shuttle travels on from the hanger to the launch pads, our agency, GSA, operated the locomotive that pulled the shuttle. I did get to see several rockets launch and that was always a thrill.
Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.

It is obscene what the USA and NASA space program became...as one who was around since sputnik.. I watched the so-called space race & make no mistake it was a military program including the shuttle...and with great pride seeing the first launch(I remember a pic of the USSR space "shuttle", identical...it was part of what bankrupted the USSR...the space race..)

To see it evolve to a massive PR campaign...with a bunch of feel-good stories and now having to depend on Russia..???!!!

I wish all of those talented engineers and NASA personal all the best...strange that we make budget cuts here and in military spending but the congress & the Executive branch will not touch entitlement programs...its called leadership ..or in ths case , lack of it

I doubt that most of this talent pool will need 99 weeks of unemployement...they are some of America's best..

    Time for a Tona.....cookshow?
