post history is entertaining. Guess he is real after all! I think he will fit right in here. Will make for some great story telling and interesting left field conversation over a beer/soda.

Sorry for posting a lot lately .

Doniston, sorry for being a jerk but I am curious as a squirrel:

What hellish color did you paint your house in since the city officials in Sheboygan put your house up for sale?
    EDIT:
Or was it because of lacking paint?

And a reminder to Doniston and all newbies: when you come here you must have a bumper sticker the says "We are spending our children's inheritance". Keep a smile on your face, a chuckle in your heart, and keep on truckin!

Seems our old Friend Doniston may have got scared and hid when it got hot in the Kitchen, not an enviable trait on the DAC. I do not think he understood and certainly did not appreciate the quality of advice he got here.

Internet experts wear me out. Had someone contact me this morning through FB, asked a question that I know the answer to (unusual). I responded and shortly afterword they told me some one else told them the opposite, my response was that I am an idiot and they should listen to someone that has never been here, good-bye.

I always try to help people, when I see tourists on the road looking lost I ask them if I can help, they pull out their guide book, I tell them to put that foolery away and listen to facts, seldom do they listen, want to argue, and my shoes are made for walking and that is what I do, Adios silly people.

Only 20 years or so ago we had to ask people directions, or advice, or look at a paper map or look in a book, but now everyone is an expert on everything, read it on the internet.

Internet Experts and the 3rd World, somehow it all makes sense.

El Cid you have any useful phrases, you live over in that part of the World. Another round of Norwegian Patty Cake tomorrow. Not exactly fair as there are 2 of them and only my feeble self.

President Carter, No disrespect but I think I will run these through Google before using them. I have some concerns that perhaps your Norwegian is like your Presidency.

Dere er vakre i kveld (you are beautiful tonight)
vakre yne, vakker kvinne (beautiful eyes, beautiful woman)
Jeg har vondt i ryggen, kan dere massere? (I have a backpain, can you give me a massage?)
norske piker puler best (norwegian girls F***s best. somewhat innocent if used under the right circumstance - else an insult).
Se opp for slanger utenfor (look out for snakes outside)
Hper du kommer flere ganger (hope i can meet you again - but can be rude if used in bed. it does then mean something different).

    You go sports

At least some language skills are a must.

We had a teenaged boy from Ohio and a very attractive young woman of Cuban ancestory with us on our last visit to Nicaragua.

The teen asked the woman how to say, "Nice butt" in spanish. Without missing a beat, she told him, "Tu pelo es muy bonita." She then looked at me and rolled her eyes. I heard him practice that phrase for the next couple of days. Not sure if he ever got up the nerve to use it.

Nice, she not only gave him a Spanish phrase, but she smashed his childish machismo.

OMG... Language learning for a newbe.. I had a trick pulled on me over that.

I knew not a word of Spanish and in Costa Rica, one of the girls that worked in the office and spoke a little English, I wanted to pick her mind a bit over a couple of fellers that worked for the company that were alway's a sabotaging my orders and work.

I asked a friend how to aske her out to a dinner one evening in a nice way in Spanish to show her I was making an effort to assimilate into the society.

That Cornhole Ben, told me to practice this.... "Tango mucho amore para ti, Vamos a culiar"

Not knowing, I practiced it with his instructions till I learned it letter perfect.

When I asked the lady that, she blushed and covered her mouth. (Boy's something wrong here I said to myself, this is not the reaction I ought to be a getting)

She then asked me, WHO taught you that?

Ben I said, he taught me that, so.. What does it really mean? I knew by this time it WAS NOT GOOD...

She said I will not tell you what it means, but it is VERY Vulgar, now tell me in English what you were trying to say...

I did get even with Ben very well later...

I got the same story. In costa rica the fish company hired a gringo salesman for export sales. First day of work the local salesman taught him how to greet Ticos, buenas dias Cara de Picha. Second day to work he tries it on the secretary. Luckily she knew somebody was goofin him. Funny sh-t

Ms. Brown mentioned this thread to me last time she came and stayed with me at the Farmstay. I'm fairly certain this gentleman, "Donister" was emailing me for a while too, as he had seen some FB posts I did on my visit to Port last November. IIRC he wanted to take a motorhome or a trailer. I said to him basically, no, not gonna happen...
