yeah, that's pretty sound advice that i have thought of before when dealing with this type of transaction. i was hoping for a diff scenario with this post for a used mtn bike. sorry we couldn't connect bill, maybe next visit.

I'm glad I live in Jinotega where the way of mugging seems to be jumping in front of people's motorcycles (friend just did the 2 days in jail, all the witnesses who initially told the cops that the pedestrian was at fault vanishing, postponed court dates etc.).

The couple who bought the bike had a car to use for getting to the ATM. I've never heard of anyone having problems with cabs in Jinotega, have heard of a friend of a friend who was mugged in Managua (woman befriended him on the bus and suggested that they share a cab like they do) but allowed to keep some money when they found his Bible and began worrying that they'd just mugged a priest. Ended with them warning him about cabs in Managua.

Were in Managua!! And highly recommended we take only certain cabs!! Our guards take down all the taxi drivers info!! There have been cases of people jumping into ur cab--what they refer to as express kidnappings!! They take you to an ATM and make u withdraw the max amt of $$$. Then they continue to hold you until past midnight, when u can withdraw more $$$! They keep doing this until ur out of $$$ or the bank puts hold on ur card!! 1 has to be aware of their surroundings at all time!! That Army/Infantry pays off,lol 1 can never truly let their guard down, sort of sad. This country has sooo much potential

I got a e-mail from a friend that said in one of those cases that you are made to do that, if you put the code in backwards it will summon help at the location.
