    Default Thanksgiving Celebration

Just want to wish to all my friends here at TRN a safe and happy thanksgiving celebration. As always my family gets together at my mom´s home. We all bring a certain dish over with some wine and desserts. My mom just prepares the turkey and the rest is upon us to bring dishes over and to celebrate as a family.

Our heartfelt wishes for a safe and sane thanksgiving to all, regardless of where you are.

We had a nice time at my BIL's in-laws. Turkey and chicken, stuffing, etc. My wife brought a pumpkin flan that was off the chain.

Roger and I like a quiet day in front of the TV, giving the remote control a good workout as we try to watch all the football coverage we can find. That, and piggin' out like there's no tomorrow! We bought a turkey from Palí in Jinotepe this year, d*mn but those things are expensive...$4/lb!

After a seasoning rub, the turkey hung out in the smoker for just under 3 hours, then was popped into the adobe oven to get the skin nice and crispy. She's a pretty bird, eh?

I made a big plate for my neighbor, Doña Teresa, piled high with turkey, giblet gravy, mashed taters, green beans and carrots, fried okra, cranberry sauce and a few rolls. I took her a serving of raspberry ice cream to finish her meal the right way, then came home to spend the day expanding my waistline. It worked! Had to take a little siesta in the 4th quarter of the Packers/Lions game. Refreshed, it was then time for more food and football! So happy that the Cowboys pulled out a win, but the best game of the day was the Longhorns win over the Aggies (sorry Ike!).

Sure hope things get cleared up between Texas and Texas A&M and that they return to an important conference rivalry. Besides, ain't no way the Aggies can hope to compete in the SEC! No way, man, too much talent and money flying around in MY conference!!

Hope everyone had a happy, happy Thanksgiving!

During prayer over thanksgiving dinner yesterday, I caught my 4 year old son with his hands folded in prayer. This was the picture of the day ! We had a wonderful time together as family each member bringing a dish and having a good time. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at TRN

It's good to see the youth carry out that little bit of thanks. Keep him on the path of appreciation, an humble and noble way of life. Thanks for the photo.
