I need free Photo Editing Software

I go through a lot of computers. Every time I get a new one I have to get software that I can use to edit photographs.

Now I don't do any crazy editing, mostly I need to crop or resize.

I used one of the Microsoft programs lately, and of course they are not free. I google for free stuff and there is a lot... A LOT of junk to sift through. One program awhile back basically took control of all my photos and wanted to do stuff with them that I didn't want (Picaso??). Editing, resizing or cropping was hard to find.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

It has to be free.

Thanks Tom, that is what I needed.

I knew you posted something awhile back and at the time I had a program that was working so I didn't get it. I was pretty sure you would be the one that helped me first on this. Thanks again.

I am a huge fan of Kim Kommando, although I have not heard her radio show since the 90s. At that time home computers were really taking off and she was a great resource. She was funny and cute and it made learning computers more fun. So much water under the bridge since then.
