    Default Cartoons

It looks like I am not able to view the cartoons any more. Could it be that they have spilled over into page 26 and my max number of pages is 25? The only way I see them is to reply to thread which brings them up under the message I would post. Then, I just back out and don't post any comments.

Is there something in my profile I need to change to see them?

Go to settings, then general settings and in Number of Posts to Show Per Page, put 40. Works for me.

Thanks Kiler. After looking through the settings I decided to change it to most recent first versus default of last. Now the newest ones are the first ones I see. Gotta retrain the brain to read the posts from bottom to top now instead of top to bottom.

Will be making my first trip in November with my wife and son. Going to Granada (of course) and am very excited. This site has been very helpful. My wife is a little worried about the Iranian training thing and everyone else I tell I'm going to Nica thinks I am crazy....we'll see

I have doubts on the "Iranian Base". If it was real they would probably be showing satellite images of it by now on all the news channels and doing drone flyovers.

Only went to Granada once and it was a nice spot. Plenty of people here can help you out tho.

    No worries mate!

We were just there and met up with Catahoula Fan... she is the one on the far left....no pun intended.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking! Welcome aboard and hope to hear more from you!

Don't worry about the Iranians in Nicaragua, worry about the crazy gringos.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks....and sorry for the thread-jack. Question, is November a good time of year to visit? Reading cookshows posts it sounds like it may be rainy. Won't stop me from coming cuz rainy and 80 degrees is better than November in WA.

Catahoula Fan won't like me...I work for big oil

Bienvenidos Kiler. I am from Washington as well.

Big Oil? I guess that term could be used broadly. I worked in refinery modifications to Chevron in Utah, out of Bellingham, before I started this crazy trip back and forth across the country.

Both of my ex wives life in Washington as well. That's why I hang my hat in Tennessee.

Whatch out for the terrorist man.

Expect Rain on the Atlantic, not the rest of the Country, but really you never know 2 years ago November was amazing here, great weather. For the Coast keep an ear open for tropical weather, the biggest Hurricanes to hit Nicaragua historically hit in November.

I live near Bellingham and work for one of the local refineries. I don't want to say which one, but the initials are bp.
And thanks Mr. cookshow for the weather report. You all have been very helpful.
    thanks again

The company I worked for is a refinery Design Agent out of Bellingham called Anvil. I know of your place, but never did anything for them. I am a specialist in ship design, but have dabbled in Aerospace and Industry off and on. I was only at Anvil for a short time.

Been traveling to Nicaragua at least once a year for many years, and most of the time we are there in November. That said, we are typically on the Pacific side - Managua, San Juan del Sur, Granada, Leon, etc. Weather in November on that side of the country is typically warm and sunny with an occasional popup shower or overnight rain. November on the Pacific side seems to be the end of the rainy season and start of the dry season. Lots of lush, green, tropical growth. We are planning to be there in November again this year for a week, and then head to the Atlantic coast for a few days.

I wouldn't let the off chance of bad weather concern you, especially if you are spending time in Granada.

Nope, the weather will not deter us. We already have tickets and hotel for Nov.8 through the 18... so excited. We committed to this trip in June.
And Randude, I work with Anvil almost daily. They sure have a lot of young engineers that require a lot of hand-holding.
Again, thanks for all the responses everyone!!

"Hand Holding" Sounds like the words of a disguntled construction worker lol. Well I am not a young engineer and when I worked there last (2007-2008) there were no young engineers. Mostly old tired guys.

    Have fun in Nicaland
