The election of officers isn't a question of math...

...but we're willing to give up the 30%!

"Things being how they are, a measure like cards in a millionaire business like buses, do you think it's only for modernization?"

"It would be as naive as asking which party won the elections in Cuba."

Do they really think this will work? (easing adoption requirements)

    So WTF...

    To the Assembly?

[I believe the figures are children waiting to be adopted]

Welcome to school! Where you come to slake your thirst for knowledge!

Of course, for example now I know that if I don't want dehydration, I have to fill my canteen with water from home!

    Welcome all poets
    to the land of Dario
    where we drink Coca Cola
    and belch pinolillo.

    Welcome poet friends
to the land of Alfonso Cortes
where in elections it's not by craziness
that one plus one is three.

    Welcome dear poets
to the land of Salomon de la Selva,
    where we carry our problems
waiting for someone else to solve them.

    Welcome dear poets
to the land of Ernesto Cardenal,
    where good people abound
    and an occasional thug.

    Welcome then, all to Nicaragua,
    to enjoy this literary meet
where, they say, all are "whores"
    until proven otherwise.

See? And if the bus breaks down, how do I get my fare back?

See, and if it works like cell phone cards, where are places that cover more than the face value?

See, and if they steal your purse with the tickets and your card, how do you get around when the spare card costs 50?

See, and if they clone the cards?

See, and if the machine that charges them is half broken?

Speaking of watching it on TV, last night, just before 8:30 PM, the channels I was watching here in Leon, jodido, on cable went black, one by one, one after the other. (Cause of commercials I channel surf, watching what's most interesting til an ad turns the experience into a brain bashing exercise, when I flip to the next best.) All that was left to watch were the Nicaraguan stations, and they were all broadcasting live the homage to Hugo Chavez in Managua. The first to speak was la Chaya Murillo, standing in front of a huge photo of Hugo's fat face smiling for eternity. She looked much sadder than usual, which is going too far for me. (Daniel seemed stiffer than usual.)

I left the room to read bits in The Divine Comedy, no ja-ja's, just a happy ending (for some).

So do I blame Big Sister now for stealing my night's lite entertainment? They got the power.
    I never met a Semite I didn't like.
