When I first came to the DAC I did learn quick to ask

Hour Offical, or Hour Costeno? when dealing with the locals... It is funny at times... Ya just can't let things like this get to ya is all, or you will go crazy...
To be called a "Has Been" I must surmise, is much Greater than to be called a "Nevah Been"... JW...

Punctuality means respect. When I tell someone I will be there, I d*mn well better be there, Nica society all aside. And yes, I am driven mad each and every day living in Nica society, it's a burden I bear with the help of LOTS of Toña.

I bet the reason for your continued sanity is a like minded, punctual, spouse..

20+ yrs has numbed me to it ..

But Chilo is leaps and bounds over her siblings.. Every time I say Nella will be late to her own funeral I get a swift kick in the shin...

Ooh, you had me laughing on that one Billy! My "like-minded" hubby is why I still don't have those tapes you made me...good try though. Men suck....

I had a great drama teacher in high school who said, "If you're early, your on time. If you're on time, you're late. And if you're late, you're dead."

I'm also way too cumplido for most Nicaraguans.

"La hora nicaraguense" that is how I remember it. You tell your guests for your event to show up at 1:00 p.m. and they start showing up around 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. My wife who is Nicaraguan told me this is typical nicaraguan response and is called "la hora nicaraguense" I grew up in Southern California and when you show up 15-20 minutes late to any event you simply arrived too late !
