Default Granada Finca Market June 9th

This Little Piggy Went To Granada

Pork BBQ is back this month at the Granada Finca Market. Don't miss out on these 1lb containers of southern-style pulled pork in a sweet and savory bbq sauce, Of course, all your favorite vendors will be there with artisan breads, gourmet honey, coconut oil products, herbal supplements, and more.

The second Sunday of each month, The Hotel La Bocona on Calle La Libertad, 2 blocks West of Central Park, hosts the Granada Finca Market. This upscale setting, from 10 am until noon, is where you'll find local farmers and artisans offering their wares, as well as a few vendors from other parts of Nicaragua.

June's market will see the addition of two Nicaraguan ladies from San Juan del Sur who will offer burritos pollo, chiltomas rellenas, tamalitos Mexicanos, and empanadas maduro. Last month's featured vendor, Carlos Vargas, a Matagalpa native, promises to be back with his unique style that combines the natural mediums of coffee and banana leaves to produce delicate works of art.

Items such as mango wood-smoked ham, sweet Italian sausage, and the fresh garlic cheese called Boursin are always available, but new products make their way to the market each month, as well. Herbed logs of compound butter and fresh bundles of lemon grass are just two more of the new things to see at June's Granada Finca Market. Stop by to find out what else is new, taste the free samples, and support your local farmers and artisans.

That pulled pork and BBQ sauce shore as hell caught my attention. I couldn't help but recall a place in the suburbs of Dallas, like a Dairy Queen, but called The Pig Stand. Was a hang out for the younger crowd where ya could get just about anything ya wanted. I always ordered those BQ sandwiches two at a time.

Does this Southern Pulled Pork BBQ come with a container, or will I need to bring one with me? I may not be a puppy, but I sure perked up when I heard about this.

Pulled pork comes in a 1lb container, ready to eat cold, or reheat if you'd prefer. That'll make 4 sandwiches, and I'll have cole slaw available, as well. No homemade buns this month as I'm outa' sesame seeds...and if you're gonna do something, do it right! Bimbo bread products are readily available most anywhere nowadays anyway...

JW, I somehow doubt the pork would make it all the way to Puerto Cabezas. The book, no problem, who here wants to steal a book??? You are just gonna have to come visit one of these days! PS, am planning a chili party in the next few weeks...come on over!!!
