    Default Right Side RAAS update

Back in town now and just finished catching up on posts.

Some good news, some rumor (same difference) for RAAS.

Landed in BLU and there were about a dozen Chinese visitors on the runway taking pictures. Sounds like they were in town for about a week or so getting the full tour. Had a mini-bus with a National Police Officer driving them around with a Military Officer escorting them. Lots of rumors and speculation on the if's and where's. Everyone is very hopeful.

Looks like a lot of shuffling of Noble staff to the drilling rig. Helicopter came and went twice while at the airport. Seems most people hope they hit oil. Lots of people are worried what happens if they spill oil. Couple on Big Island say the drilling has scared all the fish and lobster away, but no one can tell you where the drilling rig is set up.

The road to BLU is still under construction. That's been going on for years but now people are saying they are getting ready to build the bridge or that construction has already started on the bridge.

ENEL is running power from Managua. It can't be run directly to BLU so they are running lines through Kukra Hill, to Pearl Lagoon, across the bay, and then all the way down the bluff to El Bluff to tie into the lines there. Didn't think there would be mainland power or power on the bluff for years.

Sounds like there were a few cases of Dengue in BLU. To much rain and no shrimp. The public market is being completely renovated and a 2nd story is being put on.

Big Corn was a bit slow. Seems most people land and hop on a boat to Little Corn. Also, the Cat Woman is back on the island.

Met a Negro, (Spanish inflection here) and started talking to him in the Airport at MGA last week.. He had a ticket to BLU I noticed and so I opened a conversation with him in "Spanglish".. Told me straight out he was a "Gringo" and didn't understand a Effin' word I said... OK so then I switched to "Southern English" .. That he responded to.. He was an American worker from the oil fields of the Gulf and on his way there... Something is a happening and I could care less about the politics of it Work is Work..

He was probably in part of the same crew we were seeing and most all of them had the southern drawl. Must be good money if you don't mind working away from the family for extended periods of time. Probably a great single mans job.

Usually they have a good bit of off time. 14 or 21 on 14 off is not unusual, all travel paid for. Find a rig anywhere in the World and you will find someone from Oklahoma, Texas, or Louisana working on it.

I just hope some of that work goes to Nicaraguans, too.

Doubt many will work on the rig, but many will benefit from the trickle down.

Hey, I am passing my skills on and am PROUD of it.. Later in life when they can say I Learned from a "Master" and mention my name... It will carry weight as long as the performance is there to back it up... That is all I want in life.. is an HONORABLE MENTION... I can still feed myself and my young ones thanks to the help from friends when I needed it...
