    He's back!

"The route of Ortega and his Chinese buddy's canal?"

"No, it's the gap between the poor and the new rich Orteguistas of this country."

    The Chamucos reduced pensions

"Look, what are you worried about, if you don't have a job?" says one of the Chamucas held up by what's left of the Middle Class and pensioners.

    My wife says Berber Keen.

Will they serve cauliflower? The official vegetable of Nicaragua, as celebrated in the giant slices they put up?

Food is very US, large burgers, I had the "California Burger" yesterday, guacamole, big patty and real US-looking bun. There was a 15% promotion, and a free ice cream cone. Neither of us had room for the free ice cream (and that's saying a lot for Yaritsa to turn down ice cream). Ice Cream is really good too, just like the US.

Same wrappers, soft drinks are really fizzy, clean restrooms. Pay with a CC or debit and not sign the chit. Close your eyes, inhale deeply,, and you're home for a minute.

I'll try Berber Keen on everyone tomorrow ... we're all going to the circus in Estelí (real lions, and a camel. Didn't see an elephant) -and we'll probably stop at Berber Keen for dinner before the 7:30 show. Service is surprisingly fast too.

We don't have a Mick Donut in Estelí yet.

All of the Burger Kings and McDonalds I have been to in MGA are nicer than most in the States, certainly cleaner, always friendlier employees. There is one of each near where I stay in MGA so I usually hit one or the other for breakfast. In Metrocenter mall there is a McDonalds kiosk downstairs away from the food court with only ice cream, hard for me to pass by without stopping, usually really cheap too.
