    Default Crap for Sale

Been scrubbing my house this week, went through all these boxes of Crap I have not used in 6 years and here is part of the list. I sent it out to folks on the Islands to see if any are interested, no idea how I would get it to the Main quick but peruse the Crap and see if there is anything you need, sure we can figure it out if you need something.

Bought (May 2013) a 450 liter (120 gallon) water tank but it is not going to be big enough for what I want to do with it, never been used and I also have the filter and float valve kit for it. $125 http://www.rotoplas.com/hogar/azotea.html

Brought down this saw years ago, have used it twice, the saw is like new, the case looks like it has been on the Island a while. I have a dz or so new blades for it, they are worth probably at least $50 on their own. I can't see using it in the foreseeable future and hate to see it go to waste, it is Hoss of a tool, you could use it to cut down your neighbor's house (not that I would ever think of doing such a thing). $100 http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/1005948...1v&R=100594828

Had lots of locks but think this may be the last of them. These are supposedly "rustproof" their guarantee, not mine. These are the ones that are almost impossible to get at with bolt cutters. $10ea http://www.masterlock.com/search/?q=187XD

Interested in making Cheese? I got a fancy ass cheese press I could probably part with, used it about half a dz times in 6 years, Think it was even made by the Amish.

Big Red brand Come-Along,not sure what tonnage, used maybe one time but don't even think that. $25 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Big-Red-4...8041/100594354

I also have some commercial cookware that I brought down, some I might part with, steam table pans (handy for baking in or use to serve from) and some smaller saute pans, probably some other asst stuff I have yet to uncover. I brought down about a 1/3rd of my cookware when I moved and should have brought only a 1/3rd of that.

    GFCI electric outlets. 3 pack. $15 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-S...-03W/202514679

I am sure I will find some more good crap as I continue my quest to find the floor of my bodega. Lot of odds and ends that are in Rubber Maid boxes and that I never see except once a year when I sort through them and shake my head and wonder what I was thinking.

    Now for the real crap:

Used Zinc, 12 foot long 32 inches wide. This is the zinc I pulled off my roof, I have used it for animal shelters and such, most of it is pretty rusty, neighbors have been buying it for various projects but I still have maybe 10 sheets or so, still has a little life in it, better they rust at your house than mine. Make an offer.

Wood Electric Pole. Approx 25 feet long, 8 inch diameter at the base, 5 inches at the top. I bought it 6 years ago and did not need it, it was used when I bought it, does have a little rot on the bottom but still seems well and solid. needs a few coats of "black oil" and it should last a good long time. I step over this thing nearly every day and say I am going to do something with it, but never do. Cut up it would make some great fence posts or it would make a good center pole for a palapa, you get the idea. I paid way too much for it but I am good at buying high and selling low. Make an offer.

Last but not least, a young Boar Hog, he has done his job and I no longer need his services, he would need to be castrated soon ( I know a guy that can do it) or kept for breeding. I would like to see 2500 cords for him but would listen to offers, I promise I have a lot more than that in him feed wise and I paid 600 cord for him as a piglet. Piglets are selling anywhere from 700-1500 cords now, I just don't need him anymore, he must feel so used and dirty, but life's hard like that.

Dry Bag. Never used. $20 http://www.paragonsports.com/shop/en...line-baja-30hd

Kidney Belt. This one is for off-road racing. Same thing the Lobster Guys like to wear here, only better. Only used once, and it was worn in the car that won their class in the 1999 Baja 1000 . No extra charge for the fame it holds. Size 36-46 inch waist. $30 http://www.kevco-stubbs.com/kidney-belt.html

Chalk Line. Pull this out and amaze people, damn sure no one here has ever seen a straight line much less worked off one. $5 ea http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded...de=26-36000712

Circular saw blades. 3, 2 are ripping blades, one is for fine, plywood type cutting $10 for all. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Skil-7-1-4...de=34-27772679

Cheese Press. This one is close to what I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=141113761845

I have LOTS of used tape measures, When I sold my truck in the States I pulled out over 20, had that many or more in boxes, every shape and size from 25 -300 feet, I have several but most are well used but still better than you can buy here.

Key holders. Have one of these http://www.homedepot.com/s/key%2520organizer?NCNI-5 but with 8, also have these http://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Hillman-Group-Neon-Key-ID-Caps-5-Pack-711069/204726541?keyword=key+id+caps ; and these
    http://www.homedepot.com/p/The-Hillm...le+key+id+tags

Anyone have a Wagner Power Painter, they used to sell them at Pricesmart. I have a new in package roller kit for one, absolutely no use to me, also a few filters and roller heads for one. Let's make a deal...

Just wait. I am trying to empty out one of these containers so I can send you a box of crap. Broken pump, tractor parts, crap for the kids to do something with, you name it. If I don't sell these chalk lines I will send one of them, people will think you are a magician when you whip it out.

You might be the only individual in Nicaragua with an actual functioning chalk line. I opened a plant down here in 06', and had two. You would have thunk these things were voodoo magic. I had to give hour long courses in their correct application and use, and to think that an Aggie History Major is doing this brings some relevance to the situation. Sadly one of them disappeared and the other ran out of chalk and some genius figured to use flour instead and that gummed up the SOB and caused an insect infestation and ruint the string. I was so pissed off one could have lit a cigar from my red ass.

I might be undertaking a substantial project soon and if I do I am going to import no less than about 12 chalk lines and guard them with a private CPF. I will never forget going round to at least 10 ferreterias and throughout the Oriental Market looking for one. No dice.

Cookshow, I might suggest you hang on to that thing, at some point it could have incredible value in Nicaragua, maybe in the next century or so.

I have a few of them, 2 still in plastic and they come with a line level (that will blow them away). One I have open and enough chalk to last a lifetime.

I am thinking they may need them for the Canal

That is excellent news and hope they start running flights soon. I'd be at the front of the line, it would make trips much more efficient.

... When I first got here in 91 they had 2 direct flights from Bluefields to MIA....

Drugs was found on the 2nd flight... Well, that knocked that in the head... Seems the DEA said that unless it warranted an inspection agency here, it was NOT GONE HAPPEN.....

Few years back they were advertising for cargo flights from Bluefields to I believe Miami (somewhere in Florida), had advertisements on the radio here for a good while. Guess it never got off the ground or never got out of under the red tape. My assumption was that their business model was to fly down cargo and return loaded with seafood.

The seaplanes quietly disappeared after hanging on for a long time, they made several flights over here and all over the Southern Coast, think the flights were all to fly press or VIP's around, not sure if they ever sold a ticket. Never really heard what finally caused them to leave but they had to have spent plenty of money trying to wait out the process.

Few months back I posted about a jet flying in and out of here. A reliable source says it was some airline people from Guatamala, looking at all the airports in the area. I have read that in the next year or 2 there is a low cost airline coming to Central America, but I thought I read it was to be based in El Salvador, I will try to dig up a link for that.

Nature Air from Costa Rica was flying to Granada for a while, still flies into MGA (last I checked), when they first designated the Corn Island (CIS) Airport "International" there was a rumor that they would fly here, but the rumor faded.

La Costena has a pretty good lock on Domestic air travel and a huge investment here. They were advertising here on the radio a new route to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, last I checked their website it said 'coming soon" or some such. See if it comes to fruition.

I would love to see a direct flight from here to Florida, even if it was just once a month, I would certainly partake in that but I really doubt it will ever happen, but maybe. One thing Nicaragua has taught me, Never say Never.

Well maybe not done yet. The paving is done, I saw that the other day but I heard equipment out there yesterday and now again today, my guess is they are doing dirt work along the sides of the runway. Will have to go out and take look.

OK, for 22 blasted years, I have heard there will be direct flights to Miami, the Capitol of Latin America....

I have not given up on the dream/reality, it might just happen, but who in the hell knows when..

The fresh Snapper and Grouper are still dying of old age waiting for it to happen..

Last time I went diving I saw one Grouper going around on the bottom with a Walking Cane still waiting ....

    Sorry Charlie....

Some of the crap is sold or selling.

Been meaning to take some of this stuff by a guy I know that has a Ferreteria (Hardware store), just been too lazy to load it all up and haul it. Crazy thing, 6:30 this morning he comes looking my neighbor's kid that works on motos, we talked and I told him I had some stuff he may be interested in. He looked at it and said bring it this afternoon when he has money. Maybe most is gone, good riddance, now I have to get out and look some new crap to replace the old crap.

Instead of farming, buying and selling used zinc might put more money in your pocket, with a lot less effort

I think your are right about that, made more money this week than the last 3 months, but I still farm. Few years back I sat down and did the numbers. I can make more money sitting on my porch, drinking rum than I can farming, but I like to grow.
