    Default Should I move?

Have had Sweden as a safe haven for several years.

Some laws have been altered lately - not for the good.

What is your thoughts about it?

    There ain't no "Safe Heaven"

    Only when we die...

I have watched over these last years that the basturds in Governments of most all nations want to Level the playing field with this here income equality horseshit, while not leveling the the effort equality, or the dangers that go with a risky job, be it ecnomic risk or down right risking your cornhole.

End result, higher taxes, more cancerious government to feed and watchdogs over your shoulder fixing to find a way to shove it to the huevos in the self motivated...

    End of Rant...

I am with JW, aint no safe havens.

This Country sure ain't no Utopia if you are coming from Sweden.

Plenty of cool spots left in Europe, buy a summer place for the wife and kid to enjoy, get aplace in the city for the winter.

That new law is the same all over the world, it just isn't necessarily a written law everywhere. In the US you can be blackballed for that alleged crime. I'm sure it's worse in Nicaragua.

But your dilemma is understood. Do you try to change your own system, or give up and let it die?

    Thanks Cookshow.

I left Norway 15 years ago because I couldn't agree with what that country had become.

Nica is a bit too early yet. Won't drag her down there and the same goes for abandoning her. Her mother will just drag her back to Thailand
with the difficulties she will face there. It's like Nica light + the added bias against foreigners.

Never had the impression that Nica was utopia but it has its charms. One of them being a dysfunctional government that can't keep completely track of their citizens.

    John.

I don't know if I can do anything or if it's worth the hassle. It isn't my system either.
Had the same choice fifteen years ago with Norway but that was an easy decision compared to this. Had only to think about myself and whatever obstacles that came. Now the stakes are a fair bit higher.

Immigration is a holy cow in Norway/sweden which haven't done anything else than creating problems. Now the swedes in charge will curb the right of free speech from the first of July.

Finland is off limits since it's impossible for me to learn the language.
Norway is a no go - I don't even recognize it because of all the changes (and they haven't been for the better).

It keeps me up in the nighttime because whatever choice I make will affect my daughter.

Really depends on how those laws are enforced... Someone making reasonable assertions do not get prosecuted - Those yammering on in front of a Synagogue with a Hitler stash, or someone burning a pile of Quran get the book thrown at them ...

Laws are at most times a reflection of the society behind the people who right them .

    Democracy is a messy thing..

Good you put it in perspective Bill.
That was the point with the changes.

I don't think this law reflects the common society.

Australia, New Zealand , Canada and the Good ol US of A are still good places to move.. The latter if you want to stuff your pants full of cash and Reality TV and then runaway to another place in 15 to 20 yrs... If the Reality TV has not killed enough brain cells to make loose your presence of mind..

In the US, being out of reach of the long arms of the Federales is increasingly difficult. Just ask the Nevada ranchers. Even a cowboy can't be free in the wide open spaces of the west. In many places, you can't collect rainwater without the government getting their panties in a wad. The IRS scours your Facebook page to trip you up in an audit. A woman in Florida tried to live off grid in a suburban area, and was fined for NOT using electricity and city water. Kind of like being fined for not having health insurance.

So, you won't live forever. Pick your poison.
