Default Little bit of a shake thin AM

A tweet of a little 4.4 quake came by on Cronica 8 . I thought thats odd. Not many quakes on the DAC that I recall seeing - So I browsed to USGS and it shows nothing for the DAC in the last week..

So was there a small shaker there at a quarter to 5 today?

What's the rain like where you are at?

We're getting quite a bit around Estelí . . . . but others close by didn't get as much, if any.

    Wet season is early?
How does that fit in with the weak El Niño that is settling in?
Is there ANY reliable weather forecasting for Nicaragua? Radar maps?

Doniston is going to have to pick up the pace if he wants to drive to the RS this year.

We got a lot on the farm too, rained three times heavily.
But, it was definitely spotty in coverage.

I found a moving radar map:

    http://www.accuweather.com/en/ni/national/satellite

I assume the violet is precipitation. I have no idea how close to real time the depiction is.

We're currently building a sluice for the lake, to drain an unexpected amount of water.
We were hoping to go a couple of meters below the sluice and place a 6" pipe for a future hydro project.
Pack everything in good, pour a mess of concrete to avoid any possible infiltration.

We assumed the lake would diminish this summer, but it didn't.
We could drain it some with a siphon made from 4" sanitario; we might still do that. We dammed a barranca to make the lake, so we have someplace to put the water.
It's a lot of freaking water, sort of one of those, ..."be careful what you wish for" ... situations.

When we get the siphon in place, I'm going to point to the down hill opening and tell Jayro: !Chupa!

I was up and about at 4:30 AM and put me a pot of home made grits on the stove to boil a bit.... Takes 30 minutes from start to finish, We Southerners don't go in much for them pre-cooked instant kind.

Well as I got 'em on mother nature did call upon me to go have a brief visit to the Throne.

Was a sitting there, and I did hear a BOOM to the south of me.. Now this was confirmed by several what I talked to today It WAS a boom followed real closely by a mild shaking of the earth...

And No it was not me a breaking Wind I know mine when I hear it, it was distant and surely as I am sitting here to the South of me.. I can Box a compass...

Looked up at the kitchen clock and it was zackly 4:47 AM, I can see it thru the cracks in the pine door that were green pine wood when built and have dried out a bit over the years.

My thoughts was that a rock from outer space did hit the ground not to far off... I heard it when it came to an abrupt halt when it struck the ground and felt the vibrations from it.

This is my story and I will stick to it....
To be called a "Has Been" I must surmise, is much Greater than to be called a "Nevah Been"... JW...
