Saw a Fisherman with a 13# Snook for sale the other day, he had several others in the 8-10# range.

I see these large snook over here in the market. They have been butterflied, dried and salted. Anybody ever try eating this?

Seen sweet potatoes in Esteli at the mercado guy said his grandparents came from Germany. Maybe that's why he grew them

I see them all the time most every weekend where the Indians catch them by hand lining or with gill nets..

If you look close these were netted, but I made a goof post on here that my son's had caught them off the wharf hand lining.

They do have a size limit on the nets webbing where the little ones will pass right thru it..

If I remember right sometime around December they start having roe in them and it is just as nice as mullet roe.

Ya have to be careful of buying the hugmongus ones anywhere as if they are not properly handled are the first to spoil.

The Indians try to get them on ice as quickly as possible, the smaller ones that are also legal are not so sensitive to rapid spoiling perhaps it is because of the thickness of the animal and the ice not getting the heat out of them so quickly.

They do no ice-water kill any of the fish, to me that would avoid that.
