As a devout heathen Taoist I reject eternal damnation. That is for the other fellows. I was born with original goodness, m/l.
In bo centennario we were were triangulated by 3 churches, the Church of the Man in Pain, the Church of the Race Track Announcer, and the Church of the Woman who Sounded like she was being Raped below my Bedroom Window. Lotta different congregations here, including a few dignified ones like the local Assembea de Dios.

ah, Pirate, you didn't live 1/2 block from the La Anexa skool with a bedroom window facing the school. Before they painted it I though it was a municipal truck yard or something, but then came tambor month.

Pity the people in Esteli's premier neighborhood, la Riviera. County fair grounds, 2 sport parks, and a church or 2!

And it could be worse. What if they could afford tubas?
As Colonel Kurtz said,,, " ....the horror,, the horror . . ."

Yes, you can always tell a school by the paint job.
When I moved to Condega I painted the house I rented and everyone in town,, one at a time,, complete strangers, told me that it looked like a school.
One thing you learn (besides churches, drums,, vagos, endlessly barking dogs,, ) in Nicaragua is, rent upwind.
That Condega house was impossible to keep clean,, even though the street in front was paved.

The Estelí house was on a dirt street, but the wind blew the dirt in the other direction.
    Less traffic helped too.
A complicated thing,, renting a house in Nicaragua.

The farm is wonderfully quiet at night. The dogs are too far away to hear,, I don't have any dogs myself.
Only one rooster, and I have to get up at night to pee anyway, so . . .. his timing is generally pretty good.

I hear that I'm getting 20-25 eggs a day now, don't know what is happening to them, hope that Sebastian is enjoying some protein.

Shhussh, Pirate, it will get out on the net that Nicas don't have tubas and somebody will start another NGO!

Wind sucks. Our room faces the NE. Now with a wall 4 feet away and the windows closed for the AC, its amazing how much less dust we have. When the little woman is distracted I may ever silicon up one of the persianas for even less dust.
    .
But wind sucks when it doesn't blow, too. Weather report for today in the perfect climate says- "80F, feels like 94F". It's the 85% humidity that makes it so nasty.

Reminds me of a guy I met on a construction job in AZ. He had built (taxpayer) houses on a res in the north the previous year. He came back to do some other jobs and noticed that one Indian had knocked a hole in the bathroom wall so his horse could drink out of the bathtub in the winter. Now there's a man who loves his horse!

Sell. Selling empty space to those who need it as well. Probably $4CDN ($3ish US) per cubic foot) Plan is to have all of this (stuff) pay for that (Container and passage) We will see how it works.

I've got some stuff I'd love to get down, new stove, fridge, and WD.
    Logistics would be impossible.

Pic from the current trip,,, we're in Nogales, AZ,, spent the night in Nogales, MX last night,,, officially crossing in a couple of hours.

Glad that Mexico isn't one of Trump's "shithole countries" ,,,,
He didn't specifically mention Nicaragua (probably thinks it's part of Africa).

Might have to dance a bit harder going through Honduras and El Salvador.
Then again,, the whole DACA, TPS amnesty might happen before we get there.
Ariana might even have a green card in hand by the time I get back to AZ.
They printed up five million during Obama's reign,,,

Fridge - Doubt we would import a fridge - The ones we seen lately seem good enough for the price listed.

Our apartments will be couple / singles oriented so a full fridge is not in our plans.

Full size NA stove is up on the list. Too early in the move cycle to choose one now, but NG stoves with readily available LPG conversion kits put it high up on our list.

There was a nice Fridigid Aire 4 burner at the local Habitat store for $150 but nowhere to store it.

We will need 7 of those in the end.Washers are planned to be a bank of 2 and from up north - Dryer will maybe be an option - Not sure

Will be NG converted to LPG without a doubt, but the power suck will be too much - Each apartment will be individually metered, but the W&D will be metered off of our feed.

Some bits that appear to be generated by the Onion satire site - Not know for sure...

The Good Part about Living in San Juan del Sur is that “Nicaragua is Just up the Road”

Some recent travelers looking to spend an unlimited amount of time in San Juan del Sur were surprised to find they had to go through parts of Nicaragua first in order to get there.

Damien Slouch, an independently wealthy 23 year old, currently living a tax free Pre-Brexit life in Europe said, “Dude, it’s a Municipality or something, like Monaco or Luxembourg, we figured we would get straight in”.

Another visitor, Saffron (currently working through 200 hours of online yoga training) was here for the yoga vibe and said, “I don’t think it’s necessary to visit Nicaragua as I have everything I need here in San Juan del Sur”.

She added, “I experience enough poverty within my group of friends and in any case, Nicaragua may be just up the road but as soon as I got here they put the taxi prices up by 10 Córdobas so now I doubt I’ll ever see it.

Well with all the goings on - At least there is new content (Drama)

Hello lovely people of San Juan!
This is a truly special town and I’ve had the most pleasant experience interacting with all the local people here - they are genuinely so kind and that is something not to take for granted this day and age.
    I came on Friday before last week aug 10th because a woman by the name of Heidi P*****r met me in New York and proceeded to rave about how her life is all about surfing and yoga and she offered me to come and stay at her place for over a month possibly for free if I can assist her with some film (I have film gear) work. Cool so I book a ticket ) and that’s when a shifting began. She texts me that it’s actually 45 dollars per night but I can get the “friend” deal of 10 dollars per night. Okaaayy kinda lame because I already booked my ticket and figured we would just figure it all out as we were planning to work together but no worries! So I make it to wonderful San Juan and get dropped off at her place in San Juan del sir or whatever it’s called (little community with a massive pool up the road.) Before coming she requested I bring her things which I happily obliged and ran around New York and got for her with my own cash. The following things;
    - GoPro battery$20
-5 boxes of specific expensive $5.99 per box crackers she wanted$25
    -7 chocolate bars $25
    -Hairspray $20
    -Special protein powder $50
Last Wednesday I started to plan for the anticipated forecast for excellent waves the following day Thursday. That Wednesday she told me she’s probably only going to surf am and then not surf after that because she wants to buy plants and film that process. Well I had no interest in anything but surfing all day that day as those days don’t come often. But suddenly by me telling her I was only going to surf that day her tone changed and she seems to act disappointed I wasn’t going to skip out on a perfect day to go film her buy plants...

So later that day I got a scooter and felt crazy excitement for that fact I’m free to not depend on Heidi. That night her client and her decided to criticize me saying how my words don’t match my actions because I mentioned I’m all about the waves but that morning session i skipped out on. No worries I can take whatever but Heidi’s words suddenly began to hint at how I should maybe find another place because in the four days I’ve been on their program I haven’t lived up to my words... and how I should probably find another place. I figured okay we can figure it out I have a lot of things and need to see where I can go. Well it wasn’t gonna be that easy..
As she continued prying at my can of worms 🐛 and I could tell by her tone she’s completely over me now and wants me lost. I went to tell her “I get why it didn’t work out because I actually want to surf all day and “you’re more about the images of the lifestyle”.
This sentence got me the immediate boot she just blew up after that and started cussing me out and saying I need to get my stuff and leave that second. Wouldn’t have minded to but it being midnight and me not knowing a thing about the town nor do I speak the language and I had told her how I got a flat tire on the scooter I just rented she didn’t care she just said figure it out. Anyway I spent the night sleeping on the dirt road outside her house till it was morning and i could ride the scooter with the flat to the shop to fix and then get taxi.
    THIS IS THE CONFLICT PART;
As she created this fear atmosphere of theft - I had given her all my cash $600 dollars to hold for me in her safe box. She only returned 400 saying she spent the other money on stuff she went shopping for that day plus I will No longer be getting the $10 “friend deal” so I guess she’s billing me the mentioned 45 per night even though two nights we spent at someone else’s house by yankee beach. At that point she had done so much drama including getting hostile and trying to throw my valuables to the point me and the other guy had to hand block her and he physically restrained her while I was going for the catch of my stuff so after that crazyness I was just shocked and didn’t get to have a chance to get the rest of my things in the kitchen. The next day I tried to reach out about my other stuff only to find out she had blocked me on all platforms of communication we had..
So I moved on.. but after three nights I woke up on Monday morning with the single thought how it’s not fair and I should at least go over there and get my food items I didn’t get to grab as she locked me out not to mention i was in a state of shock. Also I wanted my 200 even though I knew she was not going to release that but figured it’s worth a shot and at the least there needs to be CLOSURE (typically good business finish business to the end instead of slamming doors). Well when I arrived to her place she was not there and the house was locked however a couple of her surfboard were out. So I figured how to prevent having me to come back there I may as well take one and hold it as collateral.
I knew that her best friend Luis knew where I was staying as I told him when I ran into him in town the unfortunate situation. So I figured perhaps now she will be willing to talk and negotiate... well I was wrong about that she came with Luis the next day demanded the board with out any discussion about my property and said she’ll get the police which she promptly brought there with Luis. I could not give my account due to Lack of Spanish so the super sweet folks at my Hostel did their best to defend me best they could but ultimately said if I dont return the board I’ll go to jail. So I brought the board out and she processed to pull it out and say “oh my god my baby and showed of how her name is written on it to the officer” they took a picture of my passport and that was it.
It was probably immature of me to take her board as collateral but as she blocked me and refused to talk I felt I had no choice :/
Numerous folks have told me she has had all kinds of issues before including keeping people cash unrightfully.
Today as i was riding my scooter to yankee she almost hit me while speeding by and flicking me off...
I REALLY WANT TO HELP IN ANYWAY I CAN TO MAKE THIS A BETTER PLACE PLEASE COME TALK TO ME I LOVE THE ACTUAL LOCALS!
