My favorite time of year is during the rainy season. Anywhere with a little elevation and you feel like your in a mystic world, cause you are.

One of my favorite spots, which later with time and money I would like to have a place, is in Niquinomo (Birth place of Sandino). Same climate as Catarina (just down the road). However it has not become one of the tourist destinations.

Just a simple little town, very clean, very welcoming people.

    Default Very beautiful, indeed!

Some possible downs to buying here:
    1. Land prices around here are really on the way up.
    2. Wells can be costly here (water's so far down).
    3. It sets astride a narrow ridge allowing little space for flat land.
    4. The road sucks.

    Possible answers to these problems:
    1. Get down here and buy your land now!
    2. Set up a rainwater collection system and enjoy purer water that will never be shut off!
    3. Don't walk around your back yard tipsy else you'll fall a looong way down!
    4. You're on your own here 'cause there ain't no telling when they'll get it fixed!

I know of an extremely nice property, about 7 manzanas worth of all sorts of fruit, if its still on the market I can show it to you. There is electricity and water there, but its about 30 minutes down a dirt road, in a part of Niquinomo called Santa Rita.

Default We checked out that place, too.

IMHO, it shouldn't be valued at more than 10 grand.
