    Default Leaving Nicaragua

    Hahahaha, Purdy catchy title huh?

No I am not leaving Nicalandia, and if I did I know what to do already.

But it has been like 11 years since one of my children who hold both a Nicaraguan and a US Passport have gone to the States.

This is gone be an adventure for my son Gerold (21) by himself this time.

As far as exit visas and other what evah he needs to do; so that if and when he comes back there will be no problems?????

Any one done this lately and can give us a few pointers I would be Very Grateful of it... Amen....

He has a friend that has legally worked there for a company that does diesel engine work... I don't know if it is Marine or over the road, doesn't matter to me.

He applied for an opening, they asked to see his papers, school records and such and is to start the 20th of this month.

His friend has an apartment rented for 700 a month and they will split it. His friend also has a car...

I am tickled shitless for him.. Starting pay is 18 bucks an hour...

In all honesty, I knew life was going to eventually take this turn for him, and then his younger siblings... I am the one that is not ready for it.. I am gone miss him, I really am...

American Airlines MGA-MIA- Tampa leaves MGA 7:00 AM.... Puts him in Tampa thru MIA right at 5:00 in the afternoon of July 17 $458.00 R/T

Now as I remember it from about 11 years ago, I had to get salida visas in all their US Passports, but don't know it that has changed or what....

Now that's good news. Ya think he can stick to the wealthy barber rule and sock 10% away every pay? Or will the lights of the big city be a challenge?

Our 2-yr-old son has both, US & Nica, passports. Nicaragua requires the exit visa. The US is only concerned about who enters. Your Gerold's 21 - officially not a dependent any longer. I assume he's a dual citizen of both countries, so he should be free to come & go as he can afford.

Generally a dual will enter the US on his US passport and enter Nic. on his Nic. passport. Thus no tourist visas.
A foreign resident needs an exit visa to leave Nic. but I doubt that would apply to a dual. Carry a 200 cord note with you at the airport just in case and let us know.
A foreign resident who is not a dual, of course, needs an exit visa, 200 cords at the little booth in the airport just before migracion.

Your credit card has a limit. If it is too high you can call the bank and they will lower it. Also, credit cards have online alerts, you can instruct the bank to email you every time a charge is made or other options. If it is a US card you have a ton of consumer rights. I think on a Nica card you might wish to buy fraud insurance from the bank.
