    Default Storm Brewing

Little early for us to be getting this sort of storm. They expect to name it (Earl) by end of the day.

Heads up JW, models are all saying North of you but is still a good ways out. Nasty down here this morning.

Boy everyone running around this AM like a Chicken with their heads cut off...

I went and looked at it and it would have had to do real gymnastics and a lot of back pedaling to bother us here in this area of the DAC.

I'll tell you what though... Hurricane Beta that was nothing several years back and softly grounded at Carawalla to the South.... Gave everyone a false attitude about Hurricanes.... Sort of put everyone in a rather Blaze' mood about them.

Then a year or so after that FELIX came along and stomped the evah loving Crap out of us.. Killed off a lot of people it did... NOW.....

You even mention "Tropical Storm" These Indians. Creoles, and Cheles (Me included in this one) Sit up and pay attention.

I had been following it but the rest of them all ya have to do is say "BOO" and they will haul ass back to high ground now...
To be called a "Has Been" I must surmise, is much Greater than to be called a "Nevah Been"... JW...

Not sure when that one was, think in the 60's. Joan maybe? Think that was a Cat 5 one. Scary the amount of force exerted there. Have a book somewhere, will look for it.

Lived through four hurricanes oone summer in Key West. Had a hurricane proof house 0n concrete stilts, with a diesel generator, and satellite TV.

Still was miserable. I drove up to Lauderdale to get the generator, was coming back as they were closing the road to non essential traffic.

What kills you is the cleanup afterwards, and of course, most do not have any power backup so no AC and refrigeration. That sucks very quickly!

I remember the Global Warmers saying, You haven't seen anything yet, there will be twice that number next summer.

We're overdue here,, I need to start planning, stash of beans and rice, plenty of gas.
Maybe build a wood stove, think survivalist Mormon, but with booze.

Jeez, one more thing to have to wrap my head around.

Nothing, nothing, nothing beats having your own generator.

Food does not spoil, fans work and Mother stops bitching after she listens to our generatorless neighbors.
