Default Wife & Daughter in Esteli

Our younger daughter started off on day one riding horses and now she's riding motos. She's always had that look in her eye when she sees a motorcycle go by, and I knew she would get a hankering for riding one some day, but I didn't think she'd do it at age five.

They're staying at my wife's uncle's place in Esteli, this was a cousin giving her a ride. She loved it.

Can see the smile lighting up her face. My first motorcycle ride was great. My first motorcycle drive, not so good.

Rode motorbikes and motorcycles from age 12 through 32.

Raced them from age 22 through 32....Motocross and Enduro.

Spent my honeymoon on a Husqvarna (with my bride) for 3 weeks all over Scandinavia and Europe....including East Germany during the Cold War. She said later that "Next time....we do this in a Porsche".......I could not agree more.

Husqvarna? Didn't Paul Harvey advertise that brand? Chain saws or some anti-chapping hand cream.

I've got this Mad Max image of our 'house sob' wearing a nose-cone steel helmet with bull horns, hugged by bride with brass bra cups, on a Husqvarna waving a chain saw, terrorizing the East German countryside, driving a Lutheran pastor's daughter, Angela Merkel, into politics. Your country thanks you for your service Cold Warrior.

Hey Bigh Jonh, nice foto. One can see your daughter has a firm grip on the controls, and with her face in the helmet's shadow she maintains her mystery (feminine mystique? No, too young.)

Yeah, Husqvarna is known now for their chain saws, but back then they were best known for their motocross motorcycles. There was no brass bra to the best of my knowledge, butt there was a pair of tight fitting leathers that I remember quite well. Actually a picture of her (from and of her behind) climbing onto our motorcycle in those leathers leathers made it into the Jonkoping newspaper. I remember being and getting toasted (found out what Aquavit was) that night at dinner for the picture. First time I ever ate venison too. Funny what memories lurk in your mind, eh?

ahh, memories. I remember my first wife's first motorcycle lesson, on a little 125 suzuki I believe. Brave and strong the tree she hit, it didn't even flinch.
My, how did we all survive all this crap and end up here?

Sounds a lot like my first ride except I didn't really hit the tree so much as I drove up it.

The Gods dictate that tires be made of rubber so they bounce off trees.

If anyone wonders, yes that's a Dodge Caravan in the picture. Probably the only one in Estelí.

I'd be quite happy with that FC 250 4-stroke, but more likely to end up with a Dodge Caravan . . .
