    Default Our place

We went to see our future property today. My wife's ancestors apparently owned most of Estelí and half of the outlying areas back in the day, so with hundreds of ancestors today each is getting their own patch. Her aunt has multiple working farms but no kids, so my wife is getting roughly 1/4 to 1/2 a manzana right near some of our close cousins and aunts. Ours slopes up a hill, at 4,600' above sea level, and is 25 meters wide. Sunset views and cool breezes. 25 km from Estelí by road, but two hours thanks to a shitty road. It's hard to get more remote than this, so maybe I'll become a hermit.

You could name it CoolTop Redux or something weirder, like the Geek Ranch.
Wait,, I think that name is already taken.

Those blow up igloo forms are probably still floating around . . . somewhere.

Only if there is an all-year river large enough to canoe on. Not likely.
You do need a porch sufficiently large enough to sit on and talk about corn.

    It'll be a sunset-viewing porch, which I've always wanted.

I got a deed to a property in the Yukon territory of Canada. It came in a box of Quaker Oats. One square inch. The Klondike Big Inch. Enough for a 10 yr old to build dream plans on. I've since ceded the rights to a wood-boring centipede.

Sounds like a great spot, look forward to seeing pics and plans. I might be able to get you a bit more remote, but its a dome prohibited zone, banjos would be ok tho.

No domes. Banjos and rifles. One of the neighbors was cracking off shots the whole time we were there.

Dream big, they said. A Palladian villa in El Zacaton? A wee bit overbuilt for the neighborhood.

We thought a neighbor was shooting 22s which worried us a little but found out he was throwing firecrackers in his fields all morning to scare off birds after he planted millon. No idea if he ever got a crop. Next he planted chiltoma, a much quieter food.

    One needs 4 bedrooms
1 for you and the lovely lady
    1 for a home office
    1 for the grandkids
1 for whoever in the family is out of work

you may also want maid's quarters and a guestroom

    Happy building.

No problem just build half now and leave some rebar sticking out of the roof so you can build the other half in the distant future. Will blend right in and no one will ask you for money.

    LMAO!

That construction style would blend right in on Little Island.

4 bedrooms is the Nica minimum! We have a plan now that everyone's ok with, I just need to "massage" it, as the hoity-toity architects like to say.

Somebody forgot about storing bundles of rebar in the kitchen for future construction...
