    Default MacDouglas restaurant, Dipilto area

We drove up to Dipilto to check out the area, with my wife's cousin along as a tour guide. It's near Ocotal, close to the Honduran border, off the Pan Am. The restaurant is a real gem - open air dining overlooking a waterfall and rocky river. You can climb down the rocks and along the riverbank if you're wearing good non-slip shoes and have good balance. No nanny-like signs warning you to be careful or surrender your rights to sue the owner if you get hurt. Refreshing! Just go take your chances against mother nature!

The food is excellent, and in massive portions. I ordered chimichurri, which came with tostones molded into a flower-like shape and filled with refried beans and with cheese sprinkled on top. Those were the most delectable morsels of goodness I've eaten in a long time. The rest of the food was top notch as well. Our cousin ordered fried fish, it was a big snapper gutted and fried whole, bones, eyeballs, fins, and all. Sorry, I don't do that stuff. Chicken a la plancha, gigantic mega-chicken, enough for three meals. The bill came to about U$52 for five people, tolerable for what you get.

That Roca Dura on the way back is OK too,, balcony overlooking Ocotal. Nice when the sun sets and the lights of Ocotal come on.

Their wings are OK,, rest of the food is so so,,

I'll check out McDouglas next time I go up that way. I dropped into Dipilto once looking for a hotel,,, no cigar.

Just looked at their FB page, nice looking meals. Couldn't find scenery pics.

I need to upload my pics so I can hotlink them. I've used Photobucket for years but they're so bogged down with ads now it's almost unuseable.

We went to Dipilto a couple times taking my late MIL for pilgrimages to the shrine on the rock on Guadalupe Day. Will have to check out the restaurant if we ever go back. If you are still in the area the pottery shops in Mozonte are ok and if you need stair stepper exercise the shrine on the hill has a great view of the town.

    Mine are all private also.

I open the picture and "copy image address" then insert link into the "insert image" button.

If I just click on a pic in the list and try to insert I get the above icon and no pic.

You can see both or just the first one? I can only see the first one and the second one I posted is just the pic icon.

I double checked my privacy settings and nothing is public / published. Once the pic is open / full view size, right click copy image address, back to TRN, click insert image button, paste link into the box.

Can even make a link to view multiple pics if you check the box on multiple pics, then share, get link. Should only shares the ones selected. If you are worried about what can be seen, to double check just open an incognito window and paste link into that.

I'll give you a buzz, our youngest turn six tomorrow so it'll be a busy day, might be Monday because I don't have access to a "real" computer outside of my office. Only an iPhone, which is a PITA to work with images on.
