    Default Mining the News

News is scarce and there is as much fake as real but pretty easy to verify by cross searching Social Media, there are videos, tweets, etc, of EVERYTHING.

Most of the bad stuff happens after my bed time. I get up before 4 and start reading, by daylight I have an idea of what is going on, try to shape my days around that.

Those of you using Google or other translators, keep in mind Nica Espanol does not translate very well, usually gives you the jist but can be confusing. You have to know the slang and campo talk.

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore.
    Life's different here ... It's a whole 'nother pace.

Last I heard he was in Argentina. I always found it surprising Elvis was not real popular here.

Anyway, Nicaragua libre fiesbuk channel has a lot of info. Today there was a big march from the Rosario area to downtown Esteli and later a car caravan of support went to Jinotega which has had some nasty fighting.
Lotta nasty stuff showing up, a woman in Masaya says the hospital wouldn't take the bullet out of her relative, her opinion that they didn't want her to have the proof that it was a police bullet. National Zoo (not state supported) asking for donations because it has had no visitors since this started and the critters are running out of food. Danny sad because a Sandinista baby was shot by "devils".

More Chamuca trees fell in mga, and a big march at Metrocentro.

Rainy season doing great, several heavy afternoon/evening storms.

I wonder what the Chamuca trees are being recycled into. All that steel and electrical wire...

Ticos Times had a better article than most-

I've noticed from some of the photos that it appears the police are shooting shotgun slugs instead of pellets, a new spin on riot control. Just as deadly but they travel further. You can do deer at 200 yards with them.

    Today's Havana Times lead:
Ortega Government Accepts Call to Stop the Repression
... a list of 15 recommendations from the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) stemming from the serious violations of fundamental rights during the crisis that has been affecting the country for over a month.
I'd love to learn the financial backstory: exactly how are these recently bloody arms being twisted? It's seems evident that it's the only pressure the Ortegas (and Sandinistas-on-the-dole) would respond to.

They won't let him use Maduro's election software unless he "accepts" the call to stop the repression?
