In my 40 years of living in Florida, I have seen snakes destroy the Everglades ecosystem, Iguanas destroy South Florida waterfront, and Lionfish destroy fishing habitats.
All due to human beings, ultimately.
South Florida is a model on How to destroy a Paradise.
The REAL environmental threat is in your mirror.
    Life's different here ... It's a whole 'nother pace.

First change their name, garrobo. (What American (not Chinese) eats i-word animals? Ibex? Ibis?) Then slip 'em into menus: Olive Garden = lasagna a la garrobo; Bennigans - sopa de garrobo. For the Homestead crowd garrobo asado https://www.google.com/search?q=garr...ih=419&dpr=1.5

In Northern states Canadian geese are a problem. They overrun parks with lakes, crapping everywhere and chasing kids curious about their goslings. Towns put up silhouettes of dogs - to little effect. In NYC's Chinatown I saw their plucked carcasses hanging in restaurant windows. Problem solved.

    Thanks for the entertainment TRN:
It is legal to shoot iguanas in the head with a pellet gun, stab them in the brain and even decapitate them as long as they don’t suffer, according to state law. University of Florida researches say bashing in an iguana’s head and destroying its brain quickly is the most humane way to kill one.
    Research?
    I never met a Semite I didn't like.

I had a friend who manned a booth for an environmental organization at some public site. She came back frustrated. Seems one of the visitors had an opinion on how environmentalists could maximize their benefit to the biosphere--commit suicide! No consumption, no pollution.
