Nica- EPA is holding it up,, but as soon as environmental issues are resolved,, construction will start.

No mention of how it will be financed,,
But they could issue more of those bonds:

When this hit the wires yesterday I saw it, spit beer everywhere, nearly choked. Had to sit down and reread it.

    Gets stranger by the day.

Could be just POS grasping at straws and wanting "investors" to come back. "No, don't leave me! You can have a share of the canal!"

HKND office was vacated in HongKong back in the spring (April May?) leaving no forwarding address. Landlord left holding the lease.

Well, a billion isn't bad, but not enough to build a canal. It started out reasonably, first estimate was $17 bil,, then $25,, then all the Sandis lined up with their hands outstretched and the price jumped to $50 b il

There was much discussion that Nicaragua would realize little from the project. The Chinese would dig it, they then had 100 years to realize their ROI.

But, the people who counted would get their money upfront. The land grabs would have been a bonus. It's no wonder the law passed so quickly.

There was never a business rational for the canal.
It was always an attempt at the scam of the century.
