Thread: Familiar Faces

    Default Familiar Faces

Finally got to the Cafe Don Luis,, and saw a couple of the regulars.

One Canadian,, who made a good point,, tell them that you are Canadian if they start to beat you up.
    Another long timer.

A lot left,, will they come back? Others will, the basics remain,, and Nicaragua will be even cheaper in 2-5 years.

Saw "Tony" yesterday,, he's cooking along.
He invested heavily in a Spa Experience,, right before the fan picked up speed and the caca started flying.
He has more money than Jesus,,, he doesn't care.

Manny opened a small breakfast - lunch place.
Looked nice! On the bank street between Curacao and Gallo mas Gallo

We're the optimists,, but coming down the hill this morning, as usual waving to the locals in La Laguna,, not a single one waved back.
    Some seriously stony faces.

La Laguna is Radio Ya territory,, and I'm sure the Chamuka is already explaining why the Cordoba will take a dump after Christmas,, it's all the Gringos' fault,, eat more beans and you will be fine,, and by the way,, carne de res is going to be very affordable soon, cause we are no longer exporting it.

SO ,,,It's All Good! The local economy rules.

Next Christmas is going to be eerily reminiscent of Cuba after the fall of the Soviet Union.
One thing is for sure,, the Bulgarians are not going to be shipping any of their famous marmalade unless Rosario has dollars to pay for it.

I doubt that we will see oxcarts replace buses in Nicaragua,, there is still that $billion of remesas coming in.
It WILL be interesting to see if Ortega starts taking 20% off the top of the remittances.
Cuba pulls in millions from European tourism,,
Maybe if Nicaragua quits shitting on tourists,, they might get a few.

    Canada, is that near Miami?

Your Canadian Friend seriously overestimates the schooling here.

and his Canadian friend is blowing smoke because your cedula has your nationality on it, as does your drivers license.

Always cracks me up, when white people start explaining only Usanos are Gringos.

I know lot of Nicas, all White People are in the same boat.

See backpackers all time with Canada flag patch sewn on backpacks, honestly if a person can barely read or write, do you expect them to know flags of the World??

If you’re a non-white and you blame another whole group of people for your troubles, you’re labeled a “social justice warrior.”

but if you’re white and blame another group of people for your troubles, you’re labeled a “racist hate-mongering conspiracy theorist.”

I don't know,, I saw a guy in a US flag hammock yesterday in Estelí.

100 years ago they would have sent in the marines

Now, a targeted extraction would suffice.
Need an ICC warrant, or some other legal framework. Think Noriega,, but smaller. Bin Laden ,

A brief sojourn in Gitmo, then the ICC.
