What it is truly all about. A good bargain would be to let Ortega and family leave with his $2.5 billion. The promise of the revolution might finally be realized . .

    Or not.
Another ladron is probably waiting in the wings.

A nice example that sets, eh? No problema...you got us....take our billions and enjoy!

He and his family should be hung and every centavo chased to the ends of the earth and recovered for the country.

Finding an honest politician is even harder.

Unless it's gold backed, it's not real money; why worry? Just magically conjure up some more and download it into the Nica banking system. That's how we do it here, isn't it? What's a 73 year old going to do with $2.5B?

When I said "leave", I meant leave Nicaragua with his family. If he stays he'll be endless trouble, as he was after losing to Violetta Chamorro.

Albanisa will be a repeat of the first piñata. An outrage, then,, an outrage now.

The new government will stick its tin cup

out (As before), ask that its burdensome foreign debt be forgiven (As before),,, and then borrow some more.

By then communism will be back in style, championed by AOK and her fellow travelers,, so Nicaragua will become part of The Green New Deal.

Don't ask me how or why,, "it's a mystery". Beyond the ken of those who work for a living.

Hung from that string of ChayoPalos at Puerto Allende,, I think that you can get four to a tree comfortably.

I think he enjoys being endless trouble. Why would he leave the country?

A very strange concept, this idea that Danny is going to leave. Danny ain't no quitter. Baring ill health, he may be here longer than any of us.

Ambassador Kevin Sullivan has converse on various topics and on various occasions with Ortega and the Chamuca. Let's imagine what he told them.

    "Between the lines"

The dictator promised to free all the political prisoners in 90 days...

I suppress to assure my loot until I'm done messing with the alliance, all this at once tightens the screws of power

"The Check Is In The Mail"

Correos de Nicaragua will deliver it shortly

Reminds me of the one time I sent a small package to Nicaragua via normal post. It was sent to a friend's Correos de Nicaragua box in Somoto.

It went Priority Mail from the US, expensive. It tracked normally until it left th4 US,, then nothing.
My friend kept going to the Correos office asking about it,, always told ,, Not Here.

On her final trip she spotted the distinctive red, white and blue Priority Mail box on a shelf behind the woman manning the office,,, indeed there it was,, and had probably been there some time.

It was only photos and some knick knacks,, some chocolates,, it was a test package to see if Correos was a viable means to get something to Nicaragua.

    Still brings a smile to my face . . . .

Hopefully everything will be like it was before April 19, 2018!

Yes, when we didn't see the fraud, the corruption, the secrecy, the repression, the dictator/business alliance...

In other words, Chamuca's spell worked!

    This article in La Prensa

    https://www.laprensa.com.ni/2019/03/...estados-unidos

and another recent in Havana Times, really tell it like it is.

The thesis,, Somoza was useful to the US,, became an embarrassment and outlived his usefulness,, we got rid of him.

Ortega was useful,, cooperated with our drug interdiction efforts, created a level of prosperity,, but after he killed 300+ of his fellow citizens,, became an embarrassment and outlived his usefulness. So, if you want to know the future,,

Ortega, Somoza,, Son la Misma Cosa:

    Toast

Beyond that,, Trump thinks the Chamuka is really ugly, that more than anything probably sealed their fates.

Maduro's wife isn't ugly, does that mean Venezuela is safe? Other than the Russian troops that just landed, that is.

You mean the 100 'consultants' from Russia?
Since 2005, under Chavez, Russia has been a constant and critical presence in Venezuela.
As Washington intensifies its push to drive Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro from power, Russia's Vladimir Putin has vowed to support his South American "strategic partner" and warned of the "catastrophic" consequences if the United States were to send military assistance to opposition leader Juan Guaido. - from Aljazeera, 30 Jan 2019
The game is on. Will the 4th Fleet get orders to sail from Jacksonville, for a Mexican stand-off over Venezuela?
    I never met a Semite I didn't like.

Maybe,, there has been talk of a naval blockade for quite sometime. The Russians might run it,, the tankers aren't going anywhere near it,, even with a Russian escort. They couldn't afford the insurance premiums, even with the discounts Venezuela is offering.
The Russians and Chinese own most of Venezuela's immediate and near future oi production

And the tankers are all that count.

Trump is feeling pretty cocky right now,, and he's always been a wild card in his fashion. But, knowing our boy and his recent pronouncement on the Golan Heights,, he'll probably cut a deal with Putin: "you forget about Venezuela,, we'll forget about Crimea."

Works for Russia,, they don't need the oil, and probably think that Maduro is a nutcase.
Now, to bring the Chinese to the table,, they need the oil.

Have to re-read The Art of the Deal
Of course, the losers here,, big time,, are the Cubans.
It's going to have a strong psychological effect on the Nicaraguans,, if Venezuela falls to the Empire.

Just saw a post(video) by a Canadian guy who has built on Little Corn a couple of times over the years.
He often posts videos of his trips to the various mercados and hardware stores in Managua.
What was striking to me was the absence of commerce in the mercados and stores. Like empty parking lots.
There ain't nothin goin on! Nothing!
    What a shame.....

    Yes, it's quiet everywhere.
PriceSmart is quiet,, Sinsa,, the ayudantes fight over helping you.

Mejia Godoy's restaurant across from the Crowne Plaza,, an eyesore, trashed with no signage left.
An example to those who would cross the Chamuka.

Traffic is way down on the Pan Am.

Will what works in Cuba and Venezuela work in Nicaragua??
Vamos a ver. The fat lady is a long way from singing.
