Great video! I see Rick sings about as well as I do. I wish I could play guitar 1/10 as well as he does.

Spinnerly - an offshoot of Gramerly ...

Some is Canada specific, but it would translate well to the states as well :-)

Our Trump is the anti-Spinnerly or ante-Spinnerly. He's happiest when he shares what he's thinking, unspun. Most politicians are spinning so fast it's hard to tell whether the words are coming out of their mouth or their arse. The problem with Trump's mental drippings is that they tend to provoke media pundit verbal diarrhea, which is messy to watch and it leaves a nasty residue in your ears.

Ontario Cabin guy continues on the sauna this time the front porch.

Second time typing this post - Hit the data wall at the camp today - Chilo watching Jose Jose videos overnight really quickly burns through the 5GB data limit we have - She has 5GB and I have 5GB. Her phone was used up last week and what was left of my full speed date was last night, It drops to a painfull 250kbps after 5GB until the clock resets Oct 10 -

This morning piled firewood and got a good fire going . 2nd perk pot boiling and the Buddy heater keeping the camper a good 70F as the autum 40f awaits out the door. It was to be first frost overnight but here at the camp there was nothing. I did cover the tomatos at the house before we left.

BIL #2 (who lives 2 plots down from our plot) returned Wed morning after 8 weeks up here. He managed to make enough to pay off his loan shark Aunt for the cash he borrowed for car repairs and to make the final payments for his house. It suprizes me on how he struggles on the 1900US (2500CDN) his LTD pension pays him. Mind you he is putting a 30yo girlfriend through schhol at the same time :-) He also has our instructions to start the footings of the house. Quotes from 2 guys and then digging and rebar means they should be starting just as we leave mid Nov.

This guy builds flying machines out of crap. Besides being a poster boy for STEM education and amateur engineering ingenuity, he does a lot of clever video editing to keep the interest of folks with short attention spans.

Jhis guy (Joe of Joe and Zach survival) is probably the very first Youtuber I starting following regularly.

I believe he is a Builder located around MSP . This video shows his tent way up in Fut Buck Minisoata which is on the land his Father had had a rustic cabin for (IIRC from past videos) 40+ years.

The channel is almost 10 yrs old, and I think I have been watching it for over 5. He opens tent, fixes wood stove, splits and stacks wood, cooks a few meals musses on about this shat and the other. Not exciting, but still interesting. This type of insulated tent in allowed in MN and is also allowed in quite a few Northern Ontario jurristictions as well. The channel has forked as well with them rebuilding a farm house up in MN, about 1/2 way to this tens property. I can gather that alot of this is used for both incom and tax writeoff as this channel is a good source of pocket change for them with the huge back catalog guestimating $25K yr from social blade.

This Canadian flight geek Alex P

He flies a 737 - 200 to Yellow Knife NWT (Fay the Wuck up there) on the first of 3 stops this plane will make (Even Fayer the Wuck up there) ... In this ditty the 737-200 is configed for full passenger - a 737 200 can be set up as full cargo, 1/2 cargo and full passenger - There is a swing up door al la the AR -42 to big corn that you may see from time to time.

737-200 is on note in news up here as a fancy hair PM got called out on him using a second planr, a 737-200 as well for ferrying cargo and campeign workers from event to event in parallel to his official 737-300. } Problem is the 737 200 is probably the the most inefficient plane in service today Being running on an Eco platform having two planes caused slight blush, 737-200 adds a full blush to it...

We have a public broadcaster up here , the CBC, it is similar to the US NPR, but not as intriusicly left - a little left of center, but not far left of center.

It has a show called Ideas. It has been running for over 30 years. They run reruns overnight of the previous episodes over night. This AM , @ 4:45, as I drove the middle boy to work (He pays me like an Uber, but at 60% of Uber's rate) this bit came on from Mark Blyth. He is cheerfully pragmatic about the current polotics of the world and kinda dissects the current Trump/ Balsinaro / Johnson populist movement and how it fits into our current political norms. This is the full lecture that the Ideas episode was distilled.

Sounds pretty dry, but is funny and interesting in Scottish accent to boot...

[PS - FF ro 4 min to go over the intro]

Buddy flys a new French TBM around Florida as part of what seems to be product placement advertising.

Upon reflection it is probably norco centric in the ease of flight :-)

It is like a game of flight simulator.

Chasing the tail tag on flight aware shows the plane doing , I assume, PR and demo flights aroung the south east over the last week..

Well up to the island (our island) today - Manoutoulin.

Chilo is actually looking forward to it

As our cell company does not cover there I have the roaming set, data off, GPS doug out of the drawr, dash cam set up and we are all packed up.

There are 2 plots - one 5.5 acres in an organised township (Zoning, fire, ambulance, yadda yadda) and 1/4 acre in an unorganised township (No zoning, sparse Amb, Volenteer fire but the DO have plowed roads ) that are specific targets, but we will be looking for many many more.

We will putter around the island for 2 days looking here and there for nice areas. Most townships will allor 473 to 900 ish sq foot seasonals to be built with little hassle - The unincorperated areas you can build what ever you want as long as it meets Ontario building code.

Either way (by boat, which stops this weekend, or by bridge) it is about 6 hrs to the island and the islanditself is about 1,000 sq miles. Most of it empty forest. The unincorperated bit has a lot of bears... And not the Yogi type.
