THe outsider continues work on his roof.

We are doing the final packups for the trip - Staying at a park/sleep/fly place and mull the day away in downtown TO (Toronto)

Our plot up on the island closed as well - So now we have 1/4 acre up at 45 deg lat, 42 deg lat and 12 deg lat... That rounds it out nicely..

My ex-boss in Delaware always deep fried his stuffed, 15-18 lb, Thanksgiving turkeys in peanut oil, which takes a higher temperature without smoking. Seals in the juices, crispy skin - best I'd tasted. I doubt he used a pitchfork, tho he was a certified red-neck. He grew up farming in the Amish country here. In Spring he'd plow their fields with his tractor - their religion prohibits them from using the devil's motorized machinery (or electricity). Amish markets do a great business selling produce, pies & meats hereabouts, only open Tues, Wed, & Thursdays. Their food is the best, and not expensive.

Have to do this service on our snow blower once I get back - I am told there is still snow on the ground, but should be melted by the time we get back.

Has it ever snowed in Nicaragua.....at any altitude?.....at any time?.......ever in recorded history?.........

Better question is.....What would a Nica do with a snow blower brought down by slightly retired Canadian?....

When I lived in Tisey my 90 year old neighbor told me it used to snow there when he was a child. This photo is from 1915.

I got hailed on a couple of years ago driving from Achuapa to the Pan American through Limay.
    That's another interesting road.

    Fine, corn kernel sized hail.
It formed a crust on my windshield but any that hit the ground immediately melted

Like the impeachment hearing: I watched all day yesterday, then looked at the CNN report this morning.
Clearly, they were watching a different hearing, we're possibly inhabiting a parallel universe.

Masochist. It's a done deal in the House. The only drama to be seen is how the Senate dismisses it, unless Don T totally loses his cool before then.

I was enpeached, by the fuzz. Picked peaches for two summers. 80 cent/hr. The only white. Fuzz in eyes, nose, lungs, all over my body. Skin itched for months.

The problem with the entire lunacy is that the climate change zellots are just as certain of (there ever changing and dire) conclusions as the deny side is certain "that there be no dragons there"

The truth is that humans have changed the balance of CO2 - What does that hold? Who knows for sure - but in the past there was evidence that high CO2 did not bode well for the incumbants at that time.

Does the earth care? Hell no, it will shake us off like a bad cold if it is true (The extrapolated models)

Anyone can see that we are putting too much crap in the air, too much crap in the ocean and f_cking up the land big time - Eventually we will find balance r one will be imposed upon us by the good earth.

In the mean time I enjoy the prospect of 2 months of winter (e.g. North Carolina ) but fear the US with "forms of engouragement" to have Canada "share" our water...

I'm on board with what you said with the exception of this bit about higher CO2 levels not boding well for the life forms that inhabited the earth at that time: source needed.

My geological research suggests the opposite is true. High CO2 levels (based on core samples) coincide with periods of incredible biodiversity. CO2 is plant food. More CO2 means more plants. More plants mean more O2, more animal food, and more animal habitat.

Calling CO2 a pollutant is one of the most absurd claims being made, but for some reason people aren't challenging it...

Despite the rhetoric from climate alarmists, high CO2 levels existed historically (once again based on core samples) in both hot and cold periods in the Earth's long past, and so there doesn't seem be a correlation between global warming and more CO2 except in the low resolution thinking laboratory experiments involving controlled greenhouse conditions.

What do you mean ""share" our water"? I assume you mean that some water molecules have "Made in Canada" stamped on them.

Plants consume CO2, produce O2 in the day, consume in O2 and produce CO2 at night - Then net gain is 2 or 3% so it is not a slam dunk - You can experiment for yourself. https://www.picotech.com/library/exp...-day-and-night

Now there events (Methane and CO2 discharge from undersea quakes) that dwarf our discharge etc etc but why can we not change? We had the lead issue in the 50's and 60's fixed. We had crap water in the great lakes and other watersheds and fixed it, we had acid rain and fixed it. We had Ozone depletion which has been mostly addressed.

Why would the same people who advised us on an issue, and we acted and resolved the issue, somehow be out to dupe us now?

No one will convince one or another to change their minds on the subject by on line posts. So I will just leave it there..

    Google

It appears to more related to the rate of change, rather than absolutes which in my mind fits the Darwin model that things can adapt/evolve if given time... If the rate of change in excess of a species to adapt well they disappear. Humans can adapt via technology so we have options. Again my opinion is from a risk mitigation angle, not just doom and gloom - Enough piss in the pool and eventually the pool is unswimmable regardless of how much Clorox is dumped.

So it will be a hectic day tomorrow (today EST) and I will put Slim's video here

Starts out discussing his wood stove addition to his trailer (Which I have followed for 2 + yrs) and ends discussing the next steps he will take being that the center of his traveles ( the 16 yr old "A liner") is at the end of the line. Much like we are with work a day life ( the 2 of us) and cube life (myself)

While disimilar circumstance it is still inetesting connection to Chilo and I ..
