Sc(air) Canada is done with the Embaer series this is the last E190 - they had a few E175's as well...

Almost all of our flights to Huston via Continental (then the merged united) to MGA were on the E190. Probably after the 2008 crash to maybe 2015.

There was a good spat between Bombardier and Embraer on protectionism and gov subsidies from the late 90 through the late 2010's when both were melded into bigger fish.

This is an older "Camping with Steve" Video - I have put of Steve's videos up here a few times over the year and a bit. And his video from yesterday, camping for $11 on the outskirts of the Rocky's is a really good one if you want to look it up.

This is an older one (2017) when he had condensed his years in a beat up old camper living with "No Fixed address" - Of course he found "Beautiful wife", got his gas fitters ticket and is now doing private contracting for HVAC and YouTube camper.

The wheel bearings are not well sealed. I had the same issue, driving in salt water.

Bubba has a 5 ton truck, I think.
They came in deuce and a half, the most common, 5 ton, and a monster 10 ton version.
Deuce and a half is a misnomer: Mine had a 67K GVW rating. I routinely hauled 8000 pounds of fresh water, all the barrels I could fit in the bed. Loaded up, the truck rides like a Cadillac

You use that "cruise control" a lot,, the accelerator takes a lot of muscle to maintain a steady pressure.

My first experience with the truck was in Frankfurt, Germany, 1963 -65. We had a dozen assigned to our ASA communications unit. In the event that the Ruskies and East Germans roared across the eastern border, we were supposed to bust up all our equipment (fire axes provided), burn anything we could, and load up the rest and ourselves (supposedly privy to information that was best not disclosed) and head to the Swiss border.

We had a drill once a year,, we'd carry our gear to the trucks and start them up, get in line, and then re-park them. Only about half of them would actually start after sitting unused all year.

I want to see him try the snorkel and drive it under water.
In theory it works as long as it's fresh water.

As well as Scotty, Young Will had dropped off the Radar as well.

Here is his latest where he gives a tour of his now paid off house. A few tidebits from Both Will and Scotty - Will states he was almost making $36K a months at times from both his Youtube and (mostly) amazon affiliate links. Scotty (who does few if any endorcements and is not acually paid for any he gives, he says) is about a third of a cent per view.

This is Alex P's latest flight , one of his first, in this new travel reality. Showing what one would have to deal with if flying in Canada. Not sure how this would reflect US travel, but I assume it would be similar.

West Jet is Canada's 2 carrier.

So what's the idea? Teasing us who are stuck, unable to fly out. We're so fucked. Both of my son's passports have expired. My wife's green card has a month left on it - the new one is sitting in our pile of mail back in the ol' USA homestead. With flights as flighty and expensive as they're likely to be, when the chief pandemic scientists allow it to happen, I thought I'd just take all to Miami and rent a car. But my driver's license expired this month - good for 5 yrs and time's-up coincides with a once-in-a-century global pandemic lockdown, That's damned dumb luck. Credit cards, and worse, my ATM debit card are expiring. What a shit show. We'd planned - like the best laid scheme of Robbie Burns' mice - to return in March to put our little guy back in kindergarten there which he enjoyed. All - poof. At least I got a friend back home mowing our lawn.

Dummy ferriner on another site says he is moving his family here in a few months. Buttload of enthusiasm, DS is worrying about his kid's Kindle connection.

Spring vacation to CR cancelled, fall vacation to Spain off the agenda, probably permanently.. Portacion expires next month. Have to get VPN because I am getting blocked from more stuff. A relative's uncle here just died of wuflu. Nephew in MIA recovering from covid. He dodged the bullet in Italy in January just to get it in FL. Virus spike in hometown due to out-of-state tourists for Memorial day. TES (Trump Euphoria Syndrome) raging back home. DS's don't realize Trump has lost the election for screwing up covid. Had a Father's Day party here yesterday, first guests since March. Too many peeple breathing in my AO.

My dogs and gardens are happy.

Had a bad trip at a Van Halen concert at U of MD.

Cookshow, please tell me how you learn of flights out. And that on 5th - where, with whom is it available? The embassy? Searching with airlines only takes me in circles.

I was watching one of Young Will's videos and this one came up after. The Nickle sheets look really handy with intigrated fuse.

The company he talks about "Bettery Hookup" is the one recycling all of these used 18650 cells at a buck to a buck 50 each - So each wall battery is under $400 for a 10Kw cell. That's Cracking.

Battery hook up is about an 8 hour drive from my front door. A little bit further for the Aussie here..

Thanks Cookshow. I called and wrote embassy and joined STEP.state.gov - zero. Earliest day Spirit let me book, MGA thru to Philly, was July 30, for a song - I guess it's more like a lottery ticket. We'll see.

We have given up on a 2020 visit - Not only from the ability to get there, but the almost certainty that NicLandia will be on a list for return self quarantine LONNNNGGGG after other places are off that list (Of course all countries are on that list now)

IIUC you Americans can get off a plane from somewhere of high infection, stop in at Cost Co and go have a few Pints - Sure you can do the same here but the declaration you sign upon arrival compels you to go home and quarantine for 14 days as if you are found to be a spreader you get in some deep deep doo doo.
