I subscribe to this channel, she's a body language analyst who does some interesting world figures. She doesn't know what he's saying, but since he's just nattering on about the usual Marxist boilerplate bullshit that they're all about peace and love, and the imperialist devils are the violent ones), it makes his apparent stress even more interesting. Looks to me like there's body armor under his white undershirt.

    This is Martin's Cabin

Martin is a retired fellow from Illinois who bought a cabin in the woods in the mid 80's.

The woods is northern Minnesota (Fay the Wuck up there) and he has about 9 yrs of visits recorded. He grew fond of the wood grouse up there and eventually his observations were used for some University of MN studies on the Grouse.

THere are about 55 parts to the 9 years - This one is where is gives a summary from 85 to the start of the Youtube recordings.

This one is more of a polished outdoors-y channel

    TA- Outdoors

A young fellow, and occasionally his Dad (or in brit speak 'isDad) have access to a wood lot somewhere in the UK midlands. He builds this and thats , with his dog, drinks beer, cooks meat, floggs high end bushcraft equipment.

Seems like the boosh craft industry is a lot like all other hobbies where your skill is judged by the price fag of your gear...

Anyways- From Social blade, his merch and his endorsements it looks like this is now his full time gig Previously mentioning a job and having to split time between his builds and work, now nothing.

Channel is now laid out with play lists and chapters yadda yadda yadda.

This was his break through series that spans 3 years. Started originally as a lean-to shelter it grew to moss roof compound wood shed walled compound AND hunting tower.

    Kinda campy, kinda fun.

This is in the middle of that compound build.

But does he have a flush toilet??

    And hot running water?

I remember (vaguely) my days of snow camping with the Boy Scouts in eastern Washington state.
So cold that your face would chap if you didn't tuck it in the sleeping bag. But, if you did,, the moisture from your breath destroyed the insulative value of the bag, and your whole body froze.

But, different strokes for different folks. Whatever makes you happy:

    Life Uncontained

Another polished or should I say, has become polished, channel. A young couple that bought a farm and 2 containers and are making a house out of them.

Donkeys, ducks and other livestock sneak into the frame here and there as they cut weld and hack the containers together. Right now the roof and wood framed joiner of the 2 containers are being stuck together.

Been following them for about 6 months now.

Watched a little ditty (D/L by torrent) on the first 50 yrs of the internet (ARPA net was spring 1969) and according to them you tube is the #2 site on the net after google, which are of course one in the same.

    This is Guildbrooke farm

Another couple offgridding it in Tennessee.

They have a pickup truck, a dog, chickens in the yard and live in a double wide... So yes there is redneck stereotype here if you choose to make one.

So what is the point of this one? (this video specifically) - The freezer. They have a 24V freezer that their old (tired) solar system runs.

24V freezer pulling about 250W seems perfect for us for my micro brew - And running is off of solar at peak daytime temperature sounds like a slam dunk.

A little googling also found 24V compressors off of Alibaba for 40 to 60 bucks which should take care of the walk in I want to build for the pub as well.

    Canadian Rednecks ??

    Who knew?

    Seriously, I need a wood splitter, I think. . .
We brought down a wood stove, takes 15" piece

    https://m.harborfreight.com/20-ton-l...not%20provided

When it rains, it can get cold and damp,, mostly damp.
I'm running out of trips to haul stuff down.

I still want to get one one of those saw mills. I have access to some nice hardwood. Getting it milled is an issue.
They use chainsaws, and some of the talented guys are amazing,, but there is a lot of waste, and a lot of size variation.

    https://m.harborfreight.com/saw-mill...ine-62366.html

There is a lot of truly remote area to the NE of my farm.
To the north, towards the Rio Coco, there is a lot of old growth oak. I use it for fence posts, painted with old motor oil.

Rick Beato has an interesting music channel, interesting if you're a music nerd. YouTube demonetized him because of alleged copyright issues, something he's trying to resolve. It's hard to talk about popular music without using clips of popular music, but YouTube don't care. If YouTube doesn't anoint you as a Chosen One, you will make zero money with your videos no matter how many views you have.

This one is about how computers killed rock and roll, as producers sought to sanitize playing to become mathematically perfect which took all the soul out of music.

Beato is a big Rush fan, so Bill might even enjoy him...

Their house was built with wood from this mill.

Well folks - Here he is eh....

Beato is a very cool channel , subscribed - Every rock presenter should have a 2 to 4 pack a day voice...

Edit === Looked him up on Social blade - Lets say $130K - I am guessing he is a full time producer and this is a side income.

    This is "The Outsider"

Another fellow in the woods of Northern Ontario - He has a trailer version of the mill KWP was referring too.

You could probably make a good living at milling logs in Niclandia as we found lumber for the forms on the fence to be very expensive.

The one in this video is about $6K cdn, about 4K US.

Funny is I could whip up something like this down there as I picked up a 6 hp gas engine at princess auto (a lot like Harbor freight) for equiv to $75 US - Might just pack and send it for what ever.

This fellow has a few videos on this mill and the stuffs he has built with said milled lumber.

    This is Oxtoolco

A machinist and tinkerer - Ran across him on an episode where he machined a replica of a broken tuning gear for a friend of his in brass for a shortwave radio that was maybe worth $150 bucks - The gear itself would have been worth a few hundred bucks if he charged for the labour.

    Good general machine tool ramblings.

In this one he restores an abused sharpening stone.

    This is Mr Carlson's lab

While his delivery is not as heartfelt as the Peter the german, he also has a good repair channel. Stumbled across him 2 yrs ago on a rebuild of a rare Sony Shortwave from the early 80's very meticulus in the rebuild.

Looks like this fellow makes a living repair the power supplies for CNC machines. From the brief time I had in that industry there always seems to be a local "Wizard" who can bring up old Fanuc, Mazak and similar CNC controllers. Some of these tools are 40+ years old and invaluable to repair because of the cost of replacement.

This is an early 80's amp with a power LED display and a fluorescent spectrum display - late 70's early 80's gear was really good looking from the aesthetics stand point.

Always great to have that niche.

I used to be able to charge big bucks when Xerox refused to touch equipment not no a service contract.
Generally though,, nothing like that lasts forever.

A good government job,, idle my mind during ths day,, and do something significant,, after the workday,, would be my idea if I were to go around again.

This is a pretty cool set up of darn nrar audiophile speakers with ceiling tile and foam insulation board.

Stated cost is $115 for the pair. Not only does he go through the construction but some of the background of why it works.

Wish I would make this one but don't have the space...

This is NB88 (Not sure what that is in reference too)

He has a cabin in the woods up in northern Maine and (IIRC) has a 6V cell based 24V / 400 w solar set up for his cabin.

Just a good ol' boy in the woods with his tractor (Korean I think Kiodi) Sig fire arms, steak beer along with bear and moose.

A common thread I see, other than "cabin in the woods," is tractors. As a city boy I can only imagine how a tractor would have been a horse a hundred plus years ago. Not sure which is easier to feed and maintain.
