    Default Emigration

With Central American migrants in the news, how many Nicaraguans do you know, or know of, that are uprooting and heading North?

Lots are leaving, surprisingly most I know of not headed for USA. Lot to Spain and Panama, of course lots ran to Costa Rica only to find a new Hell awaiting them there.

The ones I know going or gone to States have some ties there and for the most part were trying to go legally.

Do not underestimate the brain drain this has left, those that could get jobs abroad have, but short term this is great for the regime, Remittances were up 25% in 1st quarter. Long term it is catastrophic to lose the best and brightest.

    Socialism doesn't need brains.

We are seeing the transition from Beggar Socialism to Parasite Socialism, except the govmint needs to get cracking and send many more packing abroad to send home remittances. North Korea does it, it works fine because you have the family back on the block as collateral.

You are not going to shrink the population to fit the economy until you get rid of several hundred thousand more peeple. And don't forget the recession in the US. It has been postponed by the Trump election, but it is coming. Manufacturing and home sales are down so the rest of the recession is not far behind.

Went to 3 large ferreterrias yesterday to get a piece of 12 ga solid electrical wire. Last one had it in any choice of color as long as you wanted black. it only took the clerk 3 tries to figure this out. Sounds like everybody is running thin inventory.

Much of the previous socialist disfunction will be cleared up by AOK'S initiative to federally fund research in magic mushrooms

I see this playbook: asylum seekers stay in Mexico,, many fewer will come

Hire sufficient immigration judges to burn through the backlog. Most are not going to show up for their hearing and an order of removal can be issued.

Trump gets re-elected, and starts going after Visa overstayets, and removal orders. If the Dems lose the house, and there is a fair chance: many have their head so
far up their ass that they could do their own colonoscopies.

If the Dems do lose the house,, Goodbye DACA.
They have nothing to bargain with anymore.

Of course, I could be wrong and Hillary will be our next president. A good time to be in Nicaragua.

Or Trump leaves office, Dems give amnesty to everybody and signs them up to vote along with prisoners and Excons and win Congress and the White House, which will probably be renamed out of spite.. Dems then increase the number of supreme court justices to give them a majority there, too.

The only thing America has going for it is that the Dems are too dumb and factional to win.

4 relatives went to Spain, 2 legal and 2 not. 2 are trying to go to the US legally which seems like a silly idea until the Dems are back in power.

If the Dems lose the House, and they MUST if anything is to be accomplished, we still need SOLID Republicans to accomplish meaningful legislation. Luckily, I think that Trump is getting the respect (grudgingly) that he deserves or at least his office is getting the respect it deserves or ....the people that elected him get the respect that THEY deserve.

Also, Trump must ACT instead of wasting more years on immigration reform and playing nice with Democrats.
    Life's different here ... It's a whole 'nother pace.

We have one relative who left for Spain out of fear of his life. Otherwise, we have one or two relatives who are in the US and moving back to Nicaragua. Older, fixed income, easier life, same reasons we gringos move there.

Brain drain, ain't no brainiacs coming to the US. Or if there are, they are so few in numbers they don't make a difference. We created our own brain drain by preventing brains from developing.

Our relatives are 100% economic, no politics. They are following the family tradition that started with the Great Victory/ impoverished north in 1979.

Women find easy work in Spain as house keepers/care givers. Men have trouble without papers. apparently they don't accept flea market papers like in the US. There is some sort of path to amnesty, but even the Spanish will wake up someday. the economy for male Spaniards is not good and the next recession could push them over the edge.

The midterm elections are proof of the logjam in the US. Trump held on to his base but lost slightly overall. The Dems have the demographics sewn up, every year there are more of them and fewer old white people. Trump still has to weather a recession and if he gets tricked into attacking Iran his presidency is toast. When he leaves office payback will be a MF.
