    Default Back at work...

An offer from a neighbor to split fencing costs has Roger back at work. It's the end of rainy season, only 'bout three more weeks to go, and Roger's back to walking to the finca to supervise work. This time with a bit of fence-building along the north end of the finca. There's no fence at all there and over 700 meters is needed.

When instructed to cut down trees that would grow roots and stay alive after being made into fenceposts, his workers cut two different kinds of trees, tiguilote

and chicarina (sp?) from elsewhere on the finca, posts between 4 and 10 inches wide. They got 53 done yesterday, one fella with his axe and the other trimming with a machete, and it took 'em a bit over three and a half hours to do it. The rest of the day was spent gettin' Big Red unstuck. Heavy sigh.

Roger's break lasted 7 weeks this time during which he was able to build a few toys for his beer room. The malt factory,

needed for making bigger batches of beer, came out great and the house should smell like beer again this weekend as Roger gets ready for the holidays and Josh's return trip!

We did the same thing on Litle Corn but but everyone on LCI agrees that you can only cut them on a full moon, otherswise they will not re-grow.
    Life's different here ... It's a whole 'nother pace.

Read it right John - LCT cuts 'em on the moon then

plants them on LCI, which is out of this world man.
