    Default "Operación Sonrisa"

A total of 108 children with a cleft palate and cleft lip will be operated on by a group of doctors from the US along with help from Hospital "La Mascota" in Managua.

In Nicaragua about 1 in every 500 children are born with this deformaty. Typically in the private sector of Nicaragua an operation like this will cost U$700 dollars, however all children treated by the United States doctors will be operated on free, along with free meals, transportation to and fro their location within Nicaragua, and their housing.
