    Default Electrical work in Diriomo

Diriomo 003.jpg I think this fellow was elected "town electrician" because he had a hard hat and a safety belt. His ladder didn't quite reach so in typical Nica style, the neighbors brought out a table and put the ladder on top. Also, he is working from the top rung of this "home made" ladder. Alot of problems are caused by the birds nesting in the cables and also by just plain bad connections. It's too expensive to by "real" connectors, so they just skin the insulation and wrap one cable around the other and tape it. Works pretty well till the wind blows or the rains come. He charged 40 cords to repair a loose connection. My landlady (la gorda en la foto) tried to get us to pay the bill but we explained that, although we were renting the house, it was still her's and therefore her responsibility. I think she knew that before she told us to pay, but nothing ventured nothing gained.
