    Default Culinary Institute, Managua

The Culinary Institute is located at the entrance to Las Colinas off of the Carretera Masaya. It is one of my (new) favorite restaurants.

The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining with a "churrascuria" "desert (flambay) bar" and fancy coffees and liqueurs.

For appetizers, we had baked brie and a bloomin' onion ($4-$6). For entrees, blackened chicken cesar salad and ribeye ($11 -$18). It was a first-class presentation, complete with a chilled fork for the salad.

Be sure to ask for a tour of the professional kitchen where cooking classes are taught (anyone can register for cooking classes). I initially hesitated when the staff wanted me to tour the restrooms but finally conceded... and let me say... they are amazing restrooms!

friends that share your praise. It is on my short list of places to visit in Managua.

    Default Thanks for the tip

Definitely gonna check that out. Besides, La Baby Doc wants to hire a cook. She can't/won't do it and I'm too busy most days to cook the way you're supposed to (if you can make dinner in under 2 hours, it's junk food in my book). Maybe we can provide some scholarships in return for work-study.

Man I can't get out of Mexico fast enough. Is it October yet?

Great food, pricy (by local standards), but a nice splurge. Beautiful building & first class service.
