Oasis Fishing Tournament 2009

The Oasis International Fishing Tournament will be held on February 26, 27 and 28 of 2009. We checked the lunar calender, sacrificed a goat, burned some incense, consulted with the local experts and picked those dates.

We would really like to have a TRN team in 2009. We also have a tournament slogan under consideration but thought we would run it by the censors at the PRNL for political correctness, additional suggestions of course accepted.

Mr. Cookshow you have been nominated and elected (convicted in absencia) as a member of the Tournament committee. Please show up this year to serve your sentence. We pay the airfare from Corn Island and your lodging.
Please plan on coming over to Bluefields and fishing with us in 2009. More prizes and prize money and a shot at coverage in Saltwater Sportsman.

What crime must I commit to be sentenced to an expense-paid trip to Bluefields?

We owe him a trip from last year.
If you want to be on the committee come on, however fair warning, as we had a dispute two years ago about the "age" of a captured fish between a group of Managua diputados and some Bluefields locals who captured the 175 pound winning tarpon.
We called INPESCA to put a meter to the fish and tripled the offering of free FDC to avoid a Bluefields style WWF cage match, best out of three falls, loser leaves town.

We're working on the travel schedule... now have a hip injury to contend with... Nevertheless, I am going to do everything humanly possible to be there. I, personally would like to target tarpon on fly.

Should be called "Robalo fishing on the Rio Matagalpa", Saltwater Sportsman will love this tournament.

My biggest concern,it's getting a boat with a captain for the Team,then ofcourse meeting for a tourney strategy(and FDC ofcourse).
I was thinking of being in Bluefields a day or 2 before the tournament,I've got my salt rods and reels in Esteli already plus salt water lures galore,ready to give them fish hell
