Distributors increasing prices is "abusive," the government says. When the government increases prices, is that abusive, too? As in, charging fees to take water from your own well?

    An the air we breathe?

Water returns to the aquifer after you use it, as the air does.

    Default not if you . . .

not if you . . . bottle it in Toronto and sell it in Detroit it doesn't - or if you water a golf course in Las Vegas with Lake Michigan. Now, the air in most places, you couldn't sell anyway but, I have seen Florida sunshine sold in a can. You may want to buy that back someday.

Minerals in the soil are metabolized by the plants we sow and eat. Gotta tax all farms for those mineral rights, too. Where does it end?

Since our human waste products eventually return to the earth, doesn't it all balance out?

Ortega says he did not authorize the increase in Medicine prices.

Supposedly the reason for the increase was because the cordoba continually is falling to the Dollar and since the drug companies import their ingredients to make the medicines, they buy the products in Dollars and sell in Cordobas.

Ortega said that the Pharmacutical companies are already making record profits and don't pay taxes as is. He is consulting with MIFIC to see what can be done.

El Nuevo Diario consulted with several Pharmacies, they said that not all medicine prices have gone up.

The owners of the Pharmacies support the President to ban the price increases on pharmacueticals.

If the labrotories continue to apply price increases they will be close and fines will be issued.

The President asked Pharmacies to report distributors which sell their products at the increased rates.

I really don't think that is a smart move...

It can only result in the Labs cutting corners and perhaps resulting in poor quiality meds, which in some cases just might cost some people their lives....

The devaluation of the money hurts EVERYONE

I think at some point along the line subsidies are needed...JMO

Something that the Nicaraguan government does not seem to realize or can't comprehend is that, providing subsidies and having tax incentives for many types of businesses does not mean that these businesses will do what they do for free.

The Pharmaceutical companies are not taxed according to the article. Does that mean they do not want to make money, no.
