As many of you know, I have been building an airplane in my garage. With the pressures of self-employment and the current economy, the plane has been back-burnered for a while, along with my flying activities in general. I put an ad online for the plane, got a few responses, and finally a guy made me an offer.
He drove all the way from Newport, NC in a Chevy pickup with a flat bed trailer. We loaded everything up, he paid cash, and my aircraft building era is now history.
No, it's not like the old adage about the second happiest day of an airplane/boat owner's life being the day he sells it. I don't know; I seem to be numb to the thrill of material things. I'm still open to owning a plane one day, but it'll be something already flying, and easy to manage.
