Default Christmas Morning Sounds In The Country...

No winter white here, no bombas, or root-a-toot-tootin' going on, just the warm winds ablowin' and the peaceful sounds of life in the country.

Midnight December 25th sounded like the invasion of Gaza here.

It was louder than Mexico, but I didn't see any tracers going up or hear bullets hitting my roof on their way back down.

    Viva Nicaragua, Jueputa!

And the streets were filled with smoke, shredded newspaper ankle deep, the smoke thicker than any fog you have ever seen......

Riding home on a motorcycle thru the fog of it.....

Bullet tracers going up in the air, everyone firing AK's in the air in front their home fronts.......

It is hard for anyone to imagine what celebrations they had in Nicaragua at the end of a civil war that took so many of the country's lives......

    Christmas,1991 on the DAC.....

It tis not only a Nicaraguan thing to fire the bullets into the air in celebration.

I can recall that as a lad, it was customary to fire a shotgun into the air on New Years Eve in celebration.

Men with vacetomies fire blanks of course!

Again just a misguided bit of tangled input. No harm...no harm!

Yeah here in chinandega it was like the start of a new war at midnight with all the cohetes, firecrackers and even gunfire could be heard.

Thank you. I was transported by that clip. The sights and sounds were as I remember them.

What I need to do is to take my laptop into a sauna, burn a plastic bag and watch it again--full sensory immersion.
