LADA AUTO S.A.
Yes, TRN readers, that well made, one of most popular cars ever produced...made in the USSR and now Russia and owned by those auto giants...AvtoVaz & Renault.....originally based on a Fiat design (Good Luck Chrysler) will move an idle plant from Togliatt Russia to Chinandaga....They are expected to hired over 5000 workers, mainly from Venezula as a continuation of the Oil for qhatever deal...However, based on the trickle down economic theory, it is expected to have a positive impact on the Tona and FDC sales here in Nicaragua.
LADA..GOING GREEN
Several design changes have been made EXCLUSIVELY for the Nicaraguan cars:
1. NO BRAKES... Thus allowing the cars to coast to stops...great fuel economy & less weight and no more expensive brake repair.
2. NO battery or Starter...This has been replaced with a kick starter using Harley technology and an optional second kick start for the passenger side; based on the Socialist principal of the "couple that kick starts together stays together".
3. No Paint.....Saving the planet and workers from those toxic paints...for those near the sea...a two year supply of cow hide gease...saving the car from the salt and a leaving a neat shine...(RAAS will have a financial subsidy for lobster fisherman as the cow hides used for lobster bait are expected to soar in price)
4. No top...eliminating the need for AC.....another fuel economy savings
5. STANDARD......14 speaker boom box with 8 track tape player...you can produce additional income by hiring your car for various announcements,,,political, chicken fights, Tona specials, etc.
USA/GM particapation with LADA; SAAB MODEL
Yes, that is correct...The LADA, SAAB MODEL>>Those great Execs from GM were also present....and received $300,000,000 for the defunct SAAB brand name...Unable to sell this well engineered car company & destroying the one time world leader in auto sales, now, GM is just another bailout paid by the US taxpayer to support Union expanded ownership at the expense of bond holders (a first in US history).
The $300 million will be paid in the form of large land grants in RAAS divided up in the Board room in Motor City...while "Writing off the multi-billion $ investment" made by GM and creating a grand tax loss....thus paying zero Corporate taxes, much less paying back the US taxpayer for the bail-out (Listening John aka Howard Cox)
