    Indian corn/Maiz pujagua

Check out this beautiful Indian corn, popularly used in a local Nicaraguan drink called 'pozol' - a drink made with corn, milk, sugar and water. It's also used in chingue and a corn based drink for babies called 'cernido de niño'. Yummy!!!

Umm umm!

Up here they sell tortilla chips made from corn this color. At least I assume that's where it comes from. Also from "blue corn."

And even more varieties of potato. I went to a market in Cusco that had mountains of potato in every size, shape and color you can imagine and every one had its own name (unpronounceable, in Quechua).

My Irish genes were in heaven.

It was taken in a rural area in between El Valle de la Laguna and El Chilamate. The man was drying it, as you can see. I forgot to put this picture in the post:

I love corn too, but if you eat too much of it it will make you skidish like a horse......

I forget what it is but there is a medical term for it......

So that is why we in the South make plenty of Corn Liker.....

It reduces this phenomenon from occurring in Jones County...
