Default My Fishing Partner For Life at 3.5 Years Old

Boy it seems like yesterday that my boy was born,he is now 3 and a half years old,and loves fishing.

Even some of the guys that see him cast a fishing pole are in awe.

I have been spending a ton of time with my boy over the last 3 months.

I take him fishing 4 days a week, usually late in the afternoon.

Last week,I caught a 9 pound peacocks bass, native to South America, people pay over 6K to go catch one of these,I caught him 2 blocks away from my house,my boy caught some smaller ones as well.

As fisherman lie about their catches,we have a saying.

If you don't have proof(pictures) it did not happen.
everytime I go fishing with my boy,I take my camera to record our catches.

Here are some recent pictures of my boy, with his weapon in hand and the proof.

These are times that I will cherish for my remaining days, and once my boy becomes a grown man,he can go back and look at his tiny A$$ fishing when he was a mere 2 year old.

    Enjoy everyone

    awww shuckssss guys,thanks.

I am simply following my olde man footsteps, since I have vivid memories of when I was 5, at my Dad would never go fishing without his boy.

I think I am like that with my boy, only time I don't take him fishing with me is when I fish my monthly club tournaments.

When you eventually get down here full time, and open up one of your fishing ranches, you should think about having some Father Son Fishing club... theres a lot of boys here that don't get any quality time with their fathers, something like this might bring them together.

Well here is my 4 year old granddaughter's first fish (Mojhara) caught off the dock. Caught (mostly) by herself with no girly whining.

Bought her a Diego fishing rod and reel for Christmas.

Bottom fishing with squid for bait.

Oddly enough it was my Mom who taught us all how to fish when I was a kid. It affected my whole life as it turns out.

Is that your "panza grande" behind her in the blue shirt?

Oh... what did you mean by "it affected my whole life"?
Just curious bc I had a "strong" woman for a mother myself!

Not sure what a panza grande is but I am very trim and fit ... pictures don't lie right?

Now then ... my Mom was not so strong .... and well the more I think about it ...stubborn. The deal was that she just really liked fishing and my Dad did not. The basic difference was that she was an optimist and my Dad was a pessimist. Hence my coining of the phrase " I never met a pessimist who fished".

It affected my whole life because I wanted to fish all of the time so I moved to Florida from Ohio, bought a house on the water, bought a boat, etc...... and decided to buy property on an island off of Nicaragua. Now those are significant life decisions based upon a love of fishing and water and positive expectations.

Some of the best memories I've had with my boys is watching them catch their first fish.
Early summer in Chicago its Perch!

Panza means belly... the "grande" I am sure you already know!

To me it's always interesting to hear what affects and changes and influences peoples lives to make them who they are and to have brought them to where they are. Thanks for sharing that!

Next time I'm at my folks' house I should scan the picture of me proudly holding up about a 12" long fish I'd caught at my aunt's lake in KC. Biggest fish I ever caught.

I have a similar picture of me catching "Elmer" the hugest bass in my GrandPops pond...... dunno where the pic is though.

    Funny what shapes your life.

Be careful what you say and do with the young ones.
